Well, I found her like this
Move on with your life. Its a harsh world. Lot's of people have died. Good people even. Cricket won't even be missed.
its not a setback at all. Unless you're playing a Survival run with half XP, almost all loot removed, no food healing, increased minimum levels for all areas, etc you're going to be so OP that your choice of weapon is irrelevant.
You won't even notice the difference between S&P and any other automatic rifle by mid-game.
You underestimate people's ability to fail at basic shot placement I think, Incunabulum.
One of the top reasons people like Explosive weapons isn't because they're strong, it's because you can miss by (literally) meters and still inflict damage.
This happens most often while using explosive weapons, but it can happen with regular guns. You may have had an errant shot hit Cricket while she was downed already.
She always kills herself in my games, by standing in the pond. My first two playthroughs I didn't even realize she was a Vendor because I would find her floating already.
Or else she wouldn't be able to plant those trees to be blown up in your honor.
