Can't get Strong as follower.

So I got to the part of Curtain Call where you ride the lift down, but I can't press the button of the left. No indicator appears leaving me stuck. I tried using console commands to finish the quest, but then Strong just keeps repeating "Go away Bleeder". So is there a way to force him as my companion?

Is both Rex and Strong on the lift when you try to press the button? Did you kill Fist?

Yes killed him super dead, and both are on the lift.

They both don't have to be on the lift.
I leave alot of people behind on elevators,and then they just pop up again.
I would say reload before the final fight or intail speech.
Happened to me too...couldn't hit the button on the lift / window washer thing.
Had to reload to fix it.

Strong won't be available as a companion until you talk to Rex when you reach the bottom of Trinity Tower. Using the console to force a quest is a sure fire way to break your game. If your quest bugs out, check the wiki before you do anything. 99% of the bugs you might get have been encountered before and most have fixes for them. Using the console BEFORE checking this out can cause more problems, as you're discovering first hand. Your best bet is to reload an earlier save and try a different tact. If you don't have an earlier save, shame on you.

I have the same problem, i simply cant push the button, have a quicksave before talking to rex but it doesnt fix it, and now i lost the autosave i had when entering the last floor...and i really dont want to do the whole tower again...still, as far as i remember, every single companion has been bugged for me, danse wouldnt enter the factory, piper wasnt even outside diamond city and the gates where open, meaning i didnt get her quest and had to use console commands to start it...but this one i cant fix using console

PD: Forgot to mention i have 109 mods running...maybe some of them are completely raping my game
