I'm having issues with The Molecular Level. Also Can I build the institute teleporter in Vault 88?
I have sturges in vault 88, but have no prompts to initiate quest dialogue; also the telporter isn't in my special construction options in any surface settlements. any tips on how to fix these issues? Do I really need to go to a faction? I was hoping to do the institute ending in this playthrough lol

You missed something somewhere. You should have had an option of who to take the plans to between Minutemen, Railroad, and Brotherhood of Steel.

You do need to contact a faction in order to construct the signal interceptor, and the quest should be prompting you to contact someone. For Sturges, it should first direct you to Preston (other options likewise prompt you to speak to the faction leader first).

I'm currently playing around with this right now, and it seems you can build at least three different signal interceptors if you're willing to shoot someone and make their faction hostile. You can't use them without having someone willing to operate them, of course.

Yea I guess getting Sturges to build it was attached to the minutemen quest option, and I had to go through one of the main factions no matter what :/

Still lame that I couldn't build the teleporter inside Vault 88. Thanks everyone

It's also a bit lame that I can't do anything else with the other four signal interceptors I built at the airport, except watch them flash merrily away. :steamhappy:

Anyone else find it weird that the stabilized reflector platform can snap to itself if you build more than one? It's not even remotely useful, since it gets in the way of attaching the molecular beam emitter.

You never said you were trying to build the signal interceptor inside Vault 88. We could have told you that it would not work.

I said that earlier. You have to choose a faction to build it with.

They really should have gone with a factionless option on building the interceptor that way you could do a raider ending with Nukaworld or mods.

In my headline for the discussion, it says "also can i build the teleporter inside vault 88?" lol.

But yes on the whole I entirely agree that they should have gone with a factionless option, my character intelligence is over ten and I have all tech, scrapping, robotic perks etc. maxed

they could have based an independent option unlocking through some of those prerequisites, but meh. it is what it is

LOL. Whoops, I skimmed over the title and focused more on reading the post itself. I actually went back and read the post a second time.

Well I highly doubt they were expecting people to mod as far as they have quest wise when they made the game.

I find it kinda sad that any of the Sim Settlement Conqueror raider runs I do there is no ending possible, especially if you kill Sturges.
