How did you feel after killing Kellogg?
When I was hunting down Kellogg, I felt angry and frustrated, but after killing him, I feel sad and sympathetic for what the Insitute had done to him.
So what were your thoughts after killing Kellogg?

To me he is an interesting character. One of the few cases where, when you catch up to him, he deserves what he gets, but his backstory explains how he got that way. Would have been interesting if it was an option to talk him into joining you as a companion. Would you choose to enlist the help of your spouse's killer, to find your child that he stole?

In the Depravity mod you can get him as a Companion. Looking forward to that right now.

At first I thought Kellogg got what he deserved, but then after his backstory I kinda realized something, even if he wanted to leave the institute I don't think he could, Kellogg was just like us, he wanted a family, this is shown when he enjoys "shauns" company.

Kellogg is getting old, and as most old people he grows more wise and more remorseful. But he still is a cold hearthed killer, and redemption from his past actions are hard to find.

His trail of bodies is particually gruesome

It's creepy how Kellogg had a tragic backstory like the player character. Also you could compare Kellogg to Benny from New Vegas.
Hell, when I killed the Skyrim big bads, I never felt sad, I felt justified.
But this... gah...

There is a backstory somewhere describing how he killed other innocents. His name is the dev's little joke about him being a "cereal" killer. There are many little gags like that in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if there are bottles of milk wherever he has been.

I felt nothing as he is a boring cliche of a character (who's actions and motivations are kind of stupid) and the fight wasn't special or interesting despite him being set up as a boss.

Nothing. I got de-sensitized to killing pixels decades ago.

Yep, totally correct. He is exactly like the player character and the player character can end up like him in the end really. Kellog didnt go after Virgil to help the player character.

He is a bad guy but its a very sad story.

Also 100% correct, but he isnt one of the Synths that cant live with what they have done and have their mind wiped.

Thats the real story of Fallout 4 i think. That faction are as bad as it gets but much of that faction sides with humanity in the end.

A reminder, much of that faction didnt side with humanity, as Vault Tec(which wasnt always bad) shows after they allied with the aliens to do experiments and wipe out the Vaults, and others show.

He has a very soothing personality, I wish there was an option to 'spare' him.

Kinda sad that you had to kill him, but not sure you'd be safe if you didn't.

I beat him to death with my bare hands for killing my wife and taking my son.
After exploring his memories, I understood why he was the way he was and forgave him.
