Thats the real story of Fallout 4 i think. That faction are as bad as it gets but much of that faction sides with humanity in the end.
A reminder, much of that faction didnt side with humanity, as Vault Tec(which wasnt always bad) shows after they allied with the aliens to do experiments and wipe out the Vaults, and others show.
After exploring his memories, I understood why he was the way he was and forgave him.
