Honest Dan - Covenant
I've just entered the Covenant a guy named Dan keeps bothering me with a proposal. Thing is i already answered his question and refused his offer. He keeps walking after me and asking the same damn question over and over..

What is up with the bethesda.. since when fallout is a linear game? I said no!!! Do i have to kill this guy?

Well that guy is the good guy that entire settlement is under i think synth control idlf i remember
Zes Mar 26, 2019 @ 2:03pm
His name gives a hint actually, bethesda wants me to believe him as it seems hehe..

But again, i said no. He is honest or not, do i have to care. Maybe i'm not a good person in the game. If there is a quest related then why doesnt it start in another way? Or stay as it is?

This is an annoying situation, i think i'll kill this guy ;)

In that case, go into sneak mode and put a frag grenade in his pocket.

I accepted the offer because nothing else happens if i don't. Surely there is a quest hidden here..

And well.. i did the quest. Wont go in details, but i gave him %10 of the pay hahaha just because he pissd me off.

Alright, we put an end to this madness finally.. if you know what i mean ;)

yeah the quest is basically one of those that he helps you bring down a synth controlled settlement or some crap. You can either work with him or you can kill him somewhere in said quest its your choice.

Ugh, Covenant isn't controlled by toasters; its run by insane "scientists" who believe that the GOAT test can detect whether someone is really a toaster and believe killing five people for every toaster is success.

Covenant is somewhat like an above-ground vault. With the usual bad idea taken to an extreme.

It is the most glitched settlement in the game, mind you
Kvinden Mar 26, 2019 @ 7:43pm
It is a glitch in your game. He doesn't follow my character and I do the whole quest ignoring him after the first encounter.
If he bothers you you can accept his request and then not do anything. If you are in covenant you'll end doing exactly what he would ask you to do, with or without him.

He doesn't follow in the compound if you ignore him and reject the mayor's offer. And you can kill only the caged synth and claim covenant as a settlement without bloodshed

I informed him about the compound and he followed me there. When i had to make a choice i sided with the scientist. Dan already threatened me once and it was a bad decision.. (he just didnt know)

My thought was.. instead of killing whole compound people (mostly civilians) and nice covenant people (i liked doctor and penny) i chose to kill one single person.. dan.. who already talked down to me before. Well i wasnt the one who killed that girl (who turned to be a synth in the end).

And now i have another allied settlement under my command. Only those turrets were a problem. I accessed console and disabled them then built my own turrets in their places. Replanted whole crops and we are good to go ;)

I first sided with dan and killed whole compound guys because i had counted on jacob's word. Tought they were gonna stay friendly no matter how i deal with the compound (passed a charisma check first) but they turned hostile after that move and i needed to change my mind later.

This is a better choice now. And i dont feel guilty afterall :)

yeah i knew it was something like that i wasnt entirely sure of it i just know they lore wise are a very corrupt settlement.

It is not a glitch he will constantly harrass you in Covenant. I have had it happen in Multiple playthroughs. I don't even go to covenant during a playthrough anymore (not that I have played in a while).

I've kept them alive at times in order to keep the largest number of unique NPCs around (ones with names, dialogue, and possible vendors), but it's not exactly the moral choice.

Amelia Stockton ends up disappearing from the game entirely if you save her, but it's not like she did anything wrong, she just happens to be a synth.
Jouni Mar 26, 2019 @ 9:30pm
Amelia is one of those synths who has escaped from the Institute and she was being transported out of Commonwealth by Railroad. Covenant on the other hand kidnaps people for their synth detection experiment(and kills them all) which according to terminals in Compound doesn't likely even work.

When I talk to Dan, do what I have to do, and return, he is vanished. The marker is still there but no Dan, so it cannot be completed from his point of view.
