Due to increased vertical build limit, I've been experimenting in trying to to build a production facility to produce food, clothing and armnaments there.
And there's just enough space on the concrete base near the workshop for a vacuum hopper.
Mr. Green as a junk vendor offers a copious amount of supplies with bits and odds, while other 2 vary in offers.
The rest of them and the extras I've built help produce more primary sources for production(fruits and components)
Starlight Drive-In, massive shopping mall, with central storage facility and beefy security. The bar provides a wonderful rest stop for every settllement provisioner that comes around, be it flesh or robotic.
Just this will keep you busy for dozens of hours and your mind busy with solving automated production line riddles. WIll add pics if needed.

I definitely love the idea, thank you for the suggestion I didn't even know Mr. Green was a vendor.
Hello, thanks for the suggestion, a few ideas here I truly enjoy. Vault 88 and Bunker Hill seem like great ideas and Warrick homestead was gonna be farming (mostly cause its a pain to do anything else/ but most definitely red rocket, I was already underway on that just lacking recourses at the moment.
Most definitely, I had thought about making certain areas like Outpost Zimonja and Murkwater as fortified bases, just didnt know how to do it. Thanks for the suggestion
If you are the raider leader I agree make prison for food and water. Since the Mechanist Lair is useless for resources and it is a dark dungeon I still think it would be a great place to send settlers or npc for punishment. While the island should be a place of leisure.
I'm doing the exact same thing on my new playthrough focusing on liberating all settlements and then build them. I made sure to unlock as many trading vendors and cycle through them for junk. Also hitting up factories / breweries / locations etc for other materials (fo4 wiki really helps here).

One of the mods I use for PC is Northland Diggers and it adds dozens of Scavenging Station-like assets that you can assign settlers to. It helps diversify responsibilities they have and gives you resources to boot.
Hello, yeah I am and honestly im too low of a level right now to finish the DLC anyway, but I definantly like the Idea of your first few, only thing is Idk how to farm rad rabbits
I like Taffington houseboat idea.
Automated production lines.. don't do it.. no seriously.. just don't.
Once built an ammo factory on spectacle island which can produce every type of ammo simultaneously or individually. Working out the wiring was such a pain i actually had to draw wiring-diagrams and number every single connection i made.

The wiring of the factory floor looks super clean with just 1 input-wire per production line. The real nightmare is hidden behind the switches in the pics below :P

Amazon Ammo! Nice work. You make a video of it in action?
Not really. Its more like a proof of concept. :P Kinda gave up on the whole factory idea at some point because it is insanely pointless. Could make "almost" the same thing with just 1 ammo press if you add a computer terminal to switch ammo type you want to produce.
