And remember there are many people with trained service dogs that open those same doors for them...
A
Boy
And
His
Dog
And a dog living in an urban area can learn themselves, see the various dogs that use the subways and in war torn areas.
I don't think dogs can absorb massive amounts of radiation without consequence either or be able to heal themselves on command.
As someone already mentioned, most dogs can't carry hundreds of kilograms of ammunition, medical supplies, guns and armour.
That is true. Dogmeat may not be as awesome as D-Dog, but but he is still an extraordinary dog.
Though in most of those they did not need to turn a round doorknob to do so but they were able to pull on doors.
Game-wise however they should not and that includes the follower dog he should only go through if we open the door for him with the exception of zoning to interior cells.
I consider it an annoying bug to have that dog somehow open even a locked door at times just because he got close to it so now I either never bring him along as a follower or dismiss him after concord when I start a new game.
