Covenant ideal settlement location ...but.
I killed all the people in Covenant and got a supply line running, then started
planting crops, recruitment beacon, lighting etc.
Unfortunately I did not save at this point and in workshop mode placed a turret
near the entrance and it immediately started firing at the two turrets on top of
the wall corners, destroying both. lol.
An eyesore is the dead bodies lying all over the place that cannot be moved.

The bodies gradually disappear, as for the flaming turrets I dont think they ever go away.

Use this and uninstall it after:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3775/?

Don't worry about the warnings on the modpage.

just use console command disable on the turrets then put your own there you can disable the bodies to.

I placed a bunch of bath tubs behind some of the buildings and threw all the dead bodies in there. They've stayed there for my entire playthrough. Sometimes I eat them.

How do you move the bodies? In workshop mode you cannot.
You can take whatever is on the body but I don't see how it can be moved.

You can not get up to the turrets on top of the wall to interact with them.

Out of Workshop mode, hold down the use key on a body and move it about.

In general though, that whole quest is a disappointing outcome no matter which way you play it.

For the players who haven't gotten to this point yet:

When I was at the point where Covenant was aggro after the 'related questline' was done, I simply set myself up outside the gates once the turrets were dispatched. It will take longer, but they *all* will come outside for battle, and they will remain outside... permanently.

Once you have workshop command, plop down a wooden stairs close to it. Just scrap or store it afterwards.

All above, to me are things I never thought of. May be spoilers to some but for my second play through, I'll know now. THX all!

I already tried that but the burning turret body remains there.

I managed to lift and carry the bodies to a heap in a corner of the yard.
As those two destroyed turrets could not be removed or replaced I got onto the roof of the shed where they ask all those questions. I placed two laser turrets
on each corner of the roof and a generator to power them.

go to console commands click on the body then type disable then press enter.do this with the turrets to when you click on the turrets you need to see a number that ends with ep.

Just for clarity, though it probably won't have much of an impact in this case, on the subject of manually deleting items from the world:

'disable' will indeed disable the item but it'll still be in the cell and the save. 'markfordelete' will remove it completely from the cell/save. That said, it is prudent to use 'disable' before using 'markfordelete' to ensure the correct item is being deleted.

Like I said, just for clarity on console use.
