What's more powerful: Nuka-Nuke Launcher with +25% damage legendary effect, a MIRV Fatman that fires an additional projectile (i.e. a MIRV Big Boy) or a Nuka-Nuke Big Boy?
Having trouble with figuring out the maths on this.
- "Powerful" refers to total potential damage dealt.
- With the Nuka-Nuke weapon mod on, my +25% damage legendary Fatman does 1301 damage.
- My MIRV Big Boy does 45 damage but that's for each nuke within the 2 MIRV projectiles it launches.

For those wondering, the Nuka-Nuke Launcher is a weapon mod that can be removed from the Fatman you find it on in Nuka World, not a unique/legendary weapon itself so you can attach it to whatever Fatman you want, in this case one with a +25% legendary effect.

You know, there's a lot of -spoiler- information in this post. There are probably many people who haven't even been to Nuka-World. You should label such information as spoiler -- it's the polite thing to do. :HardAss:

What's spoilery about it? I haven't revealled how or where to get it and the DLC's been out for months. All I've revealed is a name and that it's powerful. If anything I've given people who didn't know about it another reason to play it because they now know there's some cool stuff there. But getting back to the subject of the thread, which do you think of these weapons is more powerful?

I agree. But if the OP cared, it would have been done already. :steamsad:

Well, just excuse the H3LL out of me for being behind the curve. I haven't played the game in a LONG time and just got Nuka-World and Far Harbor (and I'm sure there are one or two others).

No sense in being 'touchy' about it. :peace_hoi:

*Tries to make thread to discuss which of 3 variants of the Fatman is more powerful.*
*People complaining about super-minor spoilers.*
Guys, it's just a gun. Its name spoils nothing. It only reveals its existance but leaves everything else about it a mystery for you. I ain't exactly telling you who Luke Skywalker's father is here, or even that the movie's in space. Quit derailling the thread with petty white knighting over nothing and stay on topic. Is a +25% Nuka-Nuke Launcher more powerful than a MIRV Big Boy or a Nuka-Nuke Big Boy? Honestly I thought I'd get more insults about my resistance to working it out myself, although I am doing that anyway as a faster solution.

From what I have seen, a two shot MIRV can get seriously bugged, meaning depending on how it is fired, it will never damage the enemy no matter how close they are to the blast.

Also MIRVs are just a waste of ammo anyway.

Now I remember why I stopped coming to this forum. Don't worry, it won't happen again. :bonehead:

Enjoy.

Yeah, I know but it makes for a great spectacle. So you think a two-shot Nuka-Nuke would be better or a +25% Nuka-Nuke launcher?

I assume you have the Legendary modification mod?

Either way since there are no upgrades that boost the damage like in other weapons, you are left with the following choice:

Two Shot - 2x damage or
Mighty - 1.25x damage

Now bear in mind that there may be other bugs that come with this weapon (for instance the two shot being buggier for some reason). I haven't used this weapon extensively so I cannot tell you which works better.

Perhaps you can give each a test run and see which works better?

I've done some math and the 2 Shot MIRV does way more damage but will kill you if you don't aim higher than the horizon because the nukes explode in your face, which is a problem if shooting downhill. I'm gonna go with a 2 Shot Nuka Nuke Launcher for now.

I apologize for the necro, but you wouldn't need legendary modification mod to do what he is talking about, he has multiple fat mans with different legendaries, he wants to know which one the nuka nuke launcher upgrade part would give most damage on.
