Cant plant food at the castle

Ive tried to plant any food inside and outside and all along the area at the top of the walls..

Any advice thanks..

edit: a message says to plant in dirt... but there doesnt seem to be an area ..

A bit hard to see, But on the inside walls, the fenced off area near the bottom was enough room to plant a small field of crops.

Where this shot is taken and I am standing, there is plenty of room to plant. Or just use the square plots of dirt available in the building menu. I forget which one but I believe it's in the 'Food' menu.

I ran around the whole inside but it would'nt plant.. I'll try and see how it goes just now..

I have about 100 food planted in the court yard no mods. There is land outside the walls too where you can plant crops. All food plots are planted in workshop mode, but I do believe it's available because of a DLC. Regardless I didn't plant in the food plots you can build, just in the ground

Op are you using any mods? I honestly don't remember it being that hard to plant crops there.
