i really like to use a robot as a companion so it would help me a lot fix this
It is a bug, possibly caused by the Automatron DLC. The light emitted by the mesh from the bot is being rendered several dozen times (which also causes the texture to look weird, it basically overlaps itself), killing performance in the process.
Open the console, select the bot by clicking on it, type disable, type enable, and the bug should be gone for the moment (until reloaded).
This might affect other bots as well (same fix), as long as they have a light. A permanent fix (though not guaranteed to work) is to disable the bot in question, move away (fast travel should work as well) until the cell is unloaded, move back to the cell and enable the bot again.
I vaguely remember from my current playthrough that this might also affect power armor. As I rarely use them, I don't bother.
Just started to encounter this bug with Ada and her new Sentry Bot head, and a search about it brought me here to this wonderful solution. Thanks from years down the road.
