So... legendary weapons
Okay guys, i´d like to ask at wich lvl do legendary enemies start dropping decent legend weapons, i´m currently lvl 36 and i cross paths with lots of legendary enemies but... my god all the legend weapons i get from them are complete garbage or a piece of armor i don´t care about because im running a power armor build, up until now i have only found 2 moderately decent weapons, an incendiary radiation rifle and a cryo damage missile launcher, apart from that i have a box in Sanctuary filled with legendary knuckles, pipe pistols, boxing gloves, a bunch of armor parts i won´t ever use and even a legendary rollin pin! yes you didn´t misread a frickin legendary rollin pin X_X, any insight on this matter would be appreciated.

Have you heard the good news of RNGeesus?

The best weapons are unique types. The incendiary radiation rifle might be just one of the better legendary weapons your gonna get.

Oh, I think there should be legendaries at easy, but they only fire Nerf arrows if they're bows, look like old-school Clash of the Titans costumes if they're armor, and are the equivalent of pool noodles if they are melee weapons.

The real things should only be available on normal and up. My two pfennig worth.

Edited "bladed" to "melee", since I was on an Assassin's Creed mindset at that moment. Oy.

I'm on hard difficult and the best legendaries I could find started around when I was level 40ish. I'm level 68 now and found this sweet two shot combat shotgun totally unmodded do 164 dmg. Going to benchmark and build something cool out of it.

I'm not sure there are any specific levels at which legendary weapons drop. Mostly, randomizing algorithms seem to dictate not only how many legendaries of any type is dropped, but classes of items as well, i.e., apparel and weapons.

Now, the more formidable the enemies are, the more odds are weighted in favor of getting what you want; I found that out in Far Harbor, before progressing very far in the Commonwealth.

I'm leveled pretty high, playing on Hardest Difficulty—which isn't hardest—and not only am I not seeing many legendary enemies, I'm not seeing many worthwhile legendary firearms…they're almost as rare as hen's teeth.

O.K. this isn't the list that I remember looking at for farming. But, it works. Legendaries are in a leveled list.

If you're looking for specific effects/peices/weapons/etc., then google legendary farming. I used the autosave/hardsave method for interior locations to farm for specific items. Just remember that once you have the item that you want, that that legendary instance needs time to respawn. IIRC, interiors take around 30-40 in-game days to reset and exterior (harder to farm, imo) takes around 60-80 in-game days. I don't remember exactly. But, I believe that the farming guide lists the respawn rates.

Thanks for the info

yeah, basically I started out of the vault with a high INT build, I level up quick. but still.

I went to concord not too high level (very high mode so more legendary spawns) and I fought some radroaches in the sewers picking up an Explosive 10mm pistol I made automatic.

I went to vault 81 and bought overseer's guardian, eventually turning it into a .306 sniper rifle.

and randomly I got a plasma infused combat rifle I made automatic for slagging enemies and getting nuclear material.

So of my guys, one I had to farm for 30 minutes for. One I bought, and one I found naturally wandering the wastes.

Oh and I picked up a two shot laser rifle I'm debating using.

but if you want some legendaries I'd suggest the Gunners Plaza area south of Fallons and other areas with gunners, like Quincy and Vault 95

also Big johns salvage. scrap palace, and other junkyards

I mean you can get good loot from raiders and ghouls but better hunting IN my experience from high level mutants and gunners.

It's just a matter of luck- I've had games where I got bupkis in terms of useful legendaries, and I've had a two-shot laser musket before level 15. The named weapons are more consistent, but when you find that combat shotgun of wounding... Aahhh...

As the others have already mentioned it really just comes down to RNG, but you can use save-scumming to reroll the drop if that's your thing.

On my current playthrough I got a Lucky Radium Rifle at level 14, so I don't think the weapon type and effect is tied to player level in any way.

Legendary Rolling Pin, just what Nora needs to wreak HAVOC on her search for Sean.

I've found legandaries I actually liked and used maybe two or three times in 300+ hours (all spent on legendary, so they were a dime a dozen). That's only weapons though. I've found maybe up to a couple dozen pieces of legendary armour that saw more than at least a couple hours of use.

It's harder to say now since I have modded solution. I got Unified Clothing Overhaul (UCO) a while back because I wanted to be able to change the colour of certain armours to make better outfits, but didn't necessarily want to make the changes for all instances. Like, I wanted black combat armour for me, not for every yahoo in the wastes. But UCO also allows for some pretty OP alterations like putting liners in anything, and treating legendary traits like mods; they can be removed from one item and added to another. I've used that feature mostly to strip legendary stats off items so that I can sell them, but I've also used it to move certain traits from one item to another. In particular, I consider Deliverer to be my signature weapon (being the only weapon in the game with a unique model that isn't radiation based, melee, the cryolator, or stupid). But I don't use VATS, so ability is useless to me. I'd rather put something like bonus first shot damage on it that better suits how I use it.
