Fun thing to try is get to a location where an enemy, not in power armor, has a Fatman launcher.
Hit him with a Frenzy dart, or two as they can be resisted, then sit back and watch.
The rest of the darts range from very situational, like the Yellow Belly, to useless.
Though the Bloatfly dart lets you spawn in the creatures from corpses, usually.
- Mindcloud allows weapons without suppressors to score repeated sneak attacks, entertaining with miniguns.
- Pax/mindcloud can also be used to assist in pickpocketing so might prove very helpful if the Shady Sands shuffle is your thing.
- While it has issues with even moderately levelled enemies beserk syringes can be used to cause chaos. You can use low level enemies to flush out stronger ones, and there isn't a lot of difference between beserking an explosive user and beserking a random low level escort instead.
- Bloatfly larvae can be used to farm legendaries.
- Yellow Belly can be used to start inter faction battles
Unfortunately the damage ammo types are worthless and Endangerol doesn't seem to work at all. Aside from being niche all of its ammo is expensive and heavy and the game doesn't really reward you for using it as simply shooting things is more effective. You use it because you want to, not because it is good. Its far from alone in this even if things like lasers and .44s are technically better.
Only the ones you use on essential flagged NPCs, lol.
Outside of that there are a surprising number of perk, weapon, armour and legendary effects that can be used in non lethal, less lethal or blamethrowing roles, or to avoid combat and shrug off damage. As the goal is to keep damage to a minimum getting creative with some things that would normally be considered worthless goes a long way.
