WILD Ragdoll Physics
Occasionally, when you shoot an enemy, wild ragdoll physics come into play; the victim will pinwheel over two hundred feet into the sky. Now, ordinarily, I'd go, "Wow! Cool!" but not when the guy I shot was a legendary and I can't find his body to recover a rarely-spawning weapon. Shoulda used a railgun to pin him to a wall.

It's already bad enough that bodies vanish with maddening regularity.

Yes I would like a mod to make the corpse flying stop.

Yeah, no telling how many cool legendaries are lost that way.

Its bethesda physics. Been the same since at least oblivion.

I am not aware of any fixes.

Mind you it gets much worse above 60fps.

I'll have to check my framerates the next time I play. If it's close to 60 FPS—which I don't think is the case—that might explain it.

There was this old IO Interactive game published by EA Games, Freedom Fighters, that had a console cheat—among others—called "RagDoll," and the effect was hilarious. "Nailgun" was also fun, pinning enemies to the closest vertical structures somewhat like the railgun does in this game, but it was far more pronounced.

There are multiple mods that do this.

Use energy weapons. You have a better chance of retrieving loot from them while they are piles of ashes.

Myself plays 100% vanilla; too many irreparable mission- and game-breaking bugs proliferate madly with mods. I think I'm going to try to maximize gooifying potential so the bodies stay put.

Then, there's still the plain ol' vanishing corpses problem. I even ran across one legendary opponent carrying a ballistic weapon, and when I killed him, there was no legendary item to be found, and no sign of the firearm he was using, which was undoubtedly a legendary. Repeatedly reloading the prior save resulted in the legendary NPC not spawning at all, so no ballistic legendary. In Far Harbor, where the enemies have balls of adamantium, it's something of a problem.

No. That's because you're not paying attention to what you're installing and uninstalling mods during a playthrough.

I beg to differ. My statement stands, as I have empirical evidence, not mere ignorant opinion. My "paying attention" wasn't all that difficult, as I experienced the aforementioned problems with only ONE mod installed. I uninstalled that mod and performed a clean reinstallation of the game, and now everything works fine.

Well, I'm done with this thread, as I've said my piece, and no more constructive or amusing input seems forthcoming.
