I feel so stupid for asking this
Ok so this has been on my mind for quite some time

So every main fallout game has a specific 50's-70's something or other song to it

1: Maybe
2: (I'm not really sure I haven't played it sorry)
3: I don't want to set the world on fire
NV: Blue Moon (Or big iron I guess)

Even 76 got country roads, but I never learned what 4's song is. Does it have one?

Google is easy you know. But here it is. Dion - the wanderer.
I'm the type of guy who'll never settle down
Where pretty girls are, well you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em 'cause to me they're all the same
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em, they don't even know my name
They call me the wanderer, yeah the wanderer
I roam around, around, around, around, around, ooh

So where does this play
normally it's in an opening cutscene or trailer, so where does that song play (Other than the radio)

Cutscenes and the trailer. And it's also one of the songs on the radio and your pipboy.

There was a bit of politics over the use of The Wanderer because Dion hated having his free-love song used to narrate such a violent game.

You're soooo close.

The Inkspots did the trailer songs for the firstbFO. But, they were a little before the '50's. Closer to the '30'-'40's.

FO2 was, "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire", by Louis Armstrong and was again, a little earlier than you might think.

FO 3 was, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People", by Bob Crosby and the Bobcats.

FO:NV had "Blue Moon", by Frank Sinatra.

FO4's trailer song was, "It's All Over", again, by the Inkspots, but was just background music to the new narration from the beginning of the game and lead into the theme music that plays at the main menu.

These are, of course, just the songs from the trailers and can easily be found by searching youtube.

P.S. I haven't found the actual artist that did the remake of "Country Roads". The one bethesda used, was NOT Jon Denver (who, himself did a cover of the original) and they never credited the artist. And, there are dozens of remakes/covers by a dozen well known or slightly known artists that have done the song. I've listened to numerous versions. But, I have never pinpointed the version BGS used. Great version, though.

He should have thought to research what he was getting into, and the use of it actually brings more attention to his music because a lot of his fans were dying off, pretty much.

He is one of only a few artists of his time that still own the rights to their own music. Him and those like him tend to be very protective of their ip's due to how others have ended up.

TBH, your right. He should have researched the game at least and seen that it is a fictional world used to explore a story and used as entertainment value only. Hell, his song speaks of immorality and sleeping around which was highly taboo in his time! He created a fictional world where he was a slut, but, it's wrong to pretend to be in a post apoc world trying to survive? I guess "make love, not war" is the sentiment here :steamhappy:

Are you implying that Fallout 4 is violent?

Fair enough.
I feel like he did it for more attention and to try and get money out of Bethesda, because his music doesn't promote violence just because it's used in a freaking video game. Nor do video games themselves promote violence, unless you're a complete moron who can't tell the difference between reality and fiction who thinks to his/herself, "Oh, ripping a guy's arm off and beating him to death with it looks fun. I think I'll go out and try that."
