MO2 can't find Fallout.exe
Picture.[imgur.com] I'm trying to give MO2 directory to fallout4.exe but the folder is empty according to it. No one seems to have experienced the same problem.

should be found in
Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
and actually, you should be going through f4se_loader.exe
Using the Fallout 4 Script Extender makes things so much more simple and MO2 auto detects it.

Also, running it through F4SE prevents the game from updating provided you set it to only update when you launch it (through Steam or just MO2)

That feels like it's 2 steps ahead. It doesn't even know what fallout 4 is right now. Picture[imgur.com]
Move your games out of Program Files. That's a Windows Protected Folder and causes no end of headaches when modding (Worse on Win10). Some can get it to work, but it's recommended to install the games you're going to mod (like Skyrim & FO4) outside the Program Giles Folder. Most of use just install all of Steam Outside it.
Mine is actually installed on a different Drive. D:\Games (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\

Will that require that I move my *entire* steam folder out of the program folder? :csdmeh:

no, there's an option in steam to move game folders.

I've moved my files out of Program(86x) but the problem still persists, it can find Skyrim SE and Skyrim + Fallout new vegas but when I give it my Fallout 4 folder it doesn't find anything! I've even went ahead and downloaded F4SE but it can't seem to find it!

Also set mo2 to run as an administrator in the program properties.

And install it as portable.

The problem is that program files is protected and you would have to unrestrict access which is not a good idea from a hacker perspective. Moving it out might retain the restrictions as an anti-hacking measure.
