Sold the tools to Machete Mike, so how can I get the Mariner quest back on?

Needed the money at the time, but this decision apparently costs at least one settlement in Far Harbor. SO how can I fix this (too late to kill Machete Mike).

I am thinking console: 1st add the tools :player.additem 00aaf6

then setstage 00a990 200

then go give tools to the Mariner

You can kill Mike and take the tools back, pretty sure

Don't use console commands to "fix" quests, it's the easiest way to mess up an entire questline. Go back to a save before selling the items to Machete Mike. If you can't do that, it's best to just live with the decision you made.

too late for both responses, gained 5 or 6 levels since I sold the tools, so I sure hope the console tweaking works
