Radaway opinion.
I'm not the sort of person that likes to sunbathe near the Glowing Sea, so after all this time, I just noticed what it takes to make Radaway at a chem station: 2 Antiseptic, 3 glowing fungi, 1 plastic, and 1 purified water.

Seems like too much effort to find these things just to make Radaway.

How do any of you go about acquiring Radaway? I mean, for me, I usually get them from merchants or in containers such as first aid kits, y'know.

I think it's safe to say that a lot of us use the armor and gun workbenches quite often, but the chemstation just to make Radaway?

I'm genuinely curious if anyone stocks up on the raw materials to make Radaway... Just to make Radaway. I mean, getting raw materials to make all sorts of stuff is a big part of the game, but when it comes to Radaway specifically, isn't it just more convenient to get from merchants or loot them from containers?

Thoughts on this? Just wondered is all.

glowing fungus.. glows. so I pick it up. because its easy to find.

the other stuff is relatively common.

but for use, I generally salvage plenty of radaway from various medical containers exploring, far more than I need to use, as with upgrades to stimpacks, radaway also heals a huge % of radiation damage.

which I typically cure with solar powered.

But I craft things for XP.

I have looted about twice what I have used. Also some cooked foods reduce radiation but maybe that's from a mod I don't know about.

I rarely buy any and have never made any but the glowing fungus is needed in antibiotics which is a must in survival so I take it when I see it.

Edit: again in survival a doctor's cure is better than taking radaway.

I play on survival so I use power armor all the time. I am not good enough to stay alive without it. I make noodle cups for rad-free food. So I rarely get rads. I have never bought or made radaway or radx. Eventually, when I get over 50, I sell the extras. If you have the DLC, you can make the arch thingie and then you never need any radaway.

Ha, I rarely use the power armor, just try not to get hit :)

But I do like building powerful suits.

In reference to the OP's glowing sea comment and your power armor comment. The glowing sea survival tour in nothing but a hazmat suit is an edge of the seat experience for sure.

I have never liked the Glowing Sea. I don't even play Survival like either of you, don't know how I'd cope to be honest.

I don't really like wearing any type of power armor, mainly to avoid worrying about fusion cores, and being all clunky just ain't my thang.

Typically, I'd enter the Glowing Sea with the Hazmat suit, and I become the biggest wuss in the Commonwealth. If I could make a movie about my time in the Glowing Sea, I'd probably call it "Crouching Hazmat, Hidden Survivor".

For casual players like me, the only reason why people even go to the Glowing Sea is to put up with my least favourite mutant (honestly, even suicide mutants are more likeable than that dumb-dumb Virgil).

I suppose there are also a few more reasons to visit the Glowing Sea again, such as a few Brotherhood quests (like finding weapons for their giant robot thing) as well as a few more silly quests related to that dunce Virgil. I dislike him so much. Having said that, I do try to fulfil his requests, out of respect, and if any of the factions are after him, I try to convince them that he's not worth it. Because I like to think I am a good person, even though he is not.
Only in heavily modded (ie, harder) Survival have I ever considered crafting RadAway. And, as noted above, Antibiotics are a much higher priority. Even then once you have linked up with doctors, their rad curing is cheaper than RadAway, so you only need a few RadAway for emergencies when you have very high Rads and are a long way from a doctor.

Yeah I'm the same way only I usually only have 3 of RAD X and RADAWAY on me in survival, along with 5 stims. Other items to remove rads that you can carry are cooked mutant hound meats and refreshing beverages. A doctor or a Decon Arch can also cure you of rads so I never saw a reason to even USE radaway, much less make it

I craft Stimpacks and Radaway whenever I have fungus and bloodpacks. Just collecting meds from first aid kits is enough for your own use so I always end up with massive oversupply. At least I have something to sell.
Crafting to sell for profit makes sense.
