They are in the misc. section of the Warehouse/ Barns...
Warehouse sections come with the Contraptions DLC and Barns with the Far Harbor DLC.
The warehouse ones are steel and the barn ones are wood, you may need to use two full or a full and half section snapped together to reach the floor and you may need to snap the supports on before the railings, can not remember.
Another way is to make bridges with supports using the scaffolding pieces, they come with the Contraptions Workshop DLC.
For big, heavy-looking things (like massive concrete foundation rooves on the Sanctuary house), I've sometimes used the small concrete pillars added by the Wasteland Workshop.
