Settler at Rotten Landfill. Where dos she go?
Has anyone followed/protected the settler from this location after killing the molerats?

I got her across Tucker Bridge and into Cambridge but then I got killed by a ghoul (playing on survival).

I want to see where she goes, but she's so damn slow I don't want to waste a bunch of time if it's pointless.

settlers will randomly walk across the commonwealth just like enemys do, sometimes you can talk to them and send them to the settlement of your choice

Are there requirements for having that ability? I have found some wandering settlers and I have some room for them. Yet I cannot have dialogue options with them. Just an action key to talk and they respond with one of those generic sentences.

There is a slim chance, but they usually are fighting npcs/mobs and only one will talk about going there. If they get killed no way to send any of them

There are few types that you can recruit.

- Those who fight mobs, as mentioned above. Not all of them though, but some.

- Settlers being rescued from super mutants will run in to Sanctuary for cover. Their AIs are usually bugged in main game and they can just disappear. You can try to target them in Workshop mode and add them in to settlement.

Then assign them once (and ONLY once) to some harmless location, like pillory or scrapping station. It may take some time for them to move there. If they do, then they usually stay. They will just disapper over time, if they do not get assigned at some point.

Do not build or assign any beds for them, unless they are already working, or standing in the pillory. Trying to assign them twice to any location during bugged AI can bug them out for good.

Thanks for this info. I have tried to recruit them but always failed. I will try this next time.
When you say do not build a bed, will already having extra beds kill the recruiting?

No. Just don't try to assign them to those.

Easiest way to recruit them is to use Immersive Settlers, which automatically names settlers - without having issues that Don't Call Me Settler suffered. Game doesn't seem to unload them and my recruitment rate for rescued settlers has been 100% so far.

It still takes some time for AIs to kick in, but less than otherwise.
