sim settlements and rise of - "plots wont build" message
I gave codsworth full control over starlight drive in and sim settlements plus rise of the commonwealth. he wasnt not only so stupid to lock himself up in a construction, no, now this message appears: "max reached, plots wont build". (or similar)

can I fix it somehow. apparently codsworth is clever as a fools gold stone. it nags me, cos drive in sees no further progress and thats, what I wanted.

any clues? thx in advance.

Yes you can go into the Settlements configuration software on your pip boy holotape, and increase the settlement budget.

I started playing the same mod for the first time this week. It's pretty cool, although I am getting random crashes now, likely from the mix of other mods. Anyway, I got those messages too; I just changed the setting at the settlement planning terminal to ignore build limits. If you play it with 'designer's choice' enabled you seem to have to or it never gets completed. I'm stunned at how complex Sanctuary is in my game.

I got this mod cause I hated having to constantly tinker with settlements to get the sellters happy and productive. I'm so transfixed by the changes that I've been going from one settlement to the next just to look at them grow without actually playing the game!

Yeah it's really great, especially for those settlements you don't really care for. You can set it up, leave, come back later and turn it off and then leave it the rest of the game.

It's a great mod but it's incredibly sensitive, there are plenty of do's and don'ts which aren't listed anywhere until you go and look them up to find out why it broke your game. For instance don't let it build starlight drive in or you risk a permanent ctd whenever you get in range which cannot be fixed even with their remote destruction tool. Or don't use alternative start mods or the workshops will be all unaligned resulting in weird settlements and so on. Or the vanilla game decided to attack oberland station 3 times with supermutants which resulted in something getting damaged and the town progress freezes so you have to blow the whole thing up and start over. A good idea is to pick the town you love and let that one auto build and not have too many going on.

Oh no! I was hoping to use it on ALL settlements

Id rather prefer a stable vanilla game, than using the superduper-mod, that crashes all 5 minutes. I wanna be able to complete all missions and in the past there were a lot of mods that invented game breaking bugs, corrupt game save files etc. etc.

I dont want this again.

Well you can try but keep in mind that it also hugely resource intensive so every settlement being built at any one time while it won't slow down the game will result in you having to stand still in settlements for up to 10 minutes at a time waiting for sims to catch up with everything so it doesn't get stuck. Note, this only happens if you let them build the settlements themselves (not if you use the tools to make your own) and the settlements can be amazing like sunshine tidings co-op.

I really wish they'd release a light version which gives you the settlement walls they designed for each one only because there is no way to create them with vanilla tools.
MaxThrusters Jul 27, 2018 @ 10:55am
None of the auto build settlements I've done will build the advanced factories, unless they wait till level 3? What about MM artillery and population management console: they get scrapped :/

You might want either to restart your computer, or wait like an in-game week and fast travel a bunch.

Most of mine are rediculously cool to run around in. I brave the drive-in bugs because Strong has created a paradise there and what they did with the movie screen area was badass looking.

Just be ready for a few CTD's because they will happen.

As a mod its one of the most amazing out there imho, kuddos to them.

Settlements were moved under multithreading in Sim Settlements. This was made for stability reasons, but it also has a downside. Your PCs might not handle threads used in Auto mode.

Go under Performance settings in your City Manager Holotape. Reduce the number of threads used. Less threads means less stress for your computer. You can even set it to 1.

now I have a new problem at sunshine tidings: I assigned piper as city leader and chose sim settlements to do most stuff so I dont have to care, but... nothing happens?! they wont build and they wont upgrade. there just happens... nothing.

I assigned piper to the city planners desk, but idk what shes doing there. maybe playing solitaire.

what hit, smack, kick or prod does the mechanism need to function? thx in advance.
Ilja Aug 2, 2018 @ 12:00pm
Select the blueprint for the settlement from the desk. Leaders can lead settlements even without RotC build and their special traits will take effect. If you want them to build the settlement, then select the blueprint as well.
