Missing product key?
I purchased the physical disc of Fallout 4 GOTY about a year ago and finally I got time to start the game. When trying to install it, I'm asked about a steam key. I can't find any on the disc or the case. There was no booklet or paper inside, when I opened it. Any suggestions where to look? I also tried the Bethesda customer service, but I have to type in a code (which I can't find) to get help with my issue...

where did you buy it?

Did you get it used?

I purchased it at MediaMarkt (a german tech shop) via its online store. I opened it myself, so I don't think somebody else took the booklet (if there was any).

There will always be a booklet with it in the box with the DVD. If it wasn't there, then it was used and the product key was most likely already used.

Plastic wrapping machines are common enough that the box could have been wrapped again.

Several people on Amazon are complaining about the same thing. No codes anywhere. You can try reading their comments for help.
I know Media Markt and they're respectable - but they do also sell second hand / used games right? Is it possible the game was used?

Yeah, that will be a start then. I'll also try to go to one of the MediaMarkt stores and ask for help.

No, it was sold as unused game. The plastic wrap also looked original.

It's possible. Hope you didn't pay any more that 5 euro, because that's all it's worth since you now have to goto a place like GoG or Kinguin to buy a key.

Do they have a return policy? Maybe take it back there and tell them you didn't get a key.

Only for 14 days. Since I had no time for gaming for a long time, this has expired long ago.

Tricky when he bought it 4 years ago. But worth a try I guess.

Try the Amazon route then, and asking at MediaMarkt. Sorry buddy.
I recommend getting the Fallout Legacy Edition. It will give you all of the Fallout games except 76 and it isn't much more that just Fallout 4

Just a year ago, but this will be hard enough. It's understandable when the customer service won't accept that.

Tanks for the answers anyway!

Point out the problem was also at Amazon. Try looking for more comments on the net. Then you have some ammo to use at the store.
