Quick Save and Save option grayed out

As the title says, whenever I load or quickload my save, the game immediately unable to save nor quicksave. If I remember correctly I recently update AAF but I'm not sure if that causing it. And I'm playing it on Very Hard not Survival, and no bitdefender also. I already looked at many forums and all answers are the same, bitdefender was the culprit. So guys could you pls help me, I literally lose my worth of 26 hours of gameplay... I will appreciate all answers. Thank you

check antivirus log AGAIN - a new AV definition file might be blocking steam/game

check windows security/controlled folder access. if on, add exceptions for steam/game. windows update might have turned it on if you had it off.

if neither of those then the aaf update did something since the game saved before the update

Those options are being grayed out if there is a saving process running. Since it does appear directly after reload, I suspect your auto-save functionality is glitching.

Did you have considered to turn it off in options, force saving (console "SaveGame tempSave") and reload it after through console ("LoadGame tempSave")?

I have seen multiple topics on this as well. Except I never remember seeing any actual solutions. I kinda watch them for a solution so I can answer them later.

What do you mean "console savegame tempsave" i don't understand. Can you explain how to do it? thanks

in game, press the tilde key '~'. brings up the game console. you should see
"---" in the lower left corner. enter your commands. press the tilde key again to exit console

There is an "unsubscribe" button at top right. If you click on that, you don't get notifications from this thread if there is any new posts :-)

I have been encountering this problem but I found the cause. It is the Overlay Frameworks mod. I uninstalled it and my quicksave and quickload now work and don't grey out the save anymore. I did discover that quicksaving is not the issue. It is quickloading. If you simply load from the pause menu instead of quickloading it seems to work without issue even with the Overlay Frameworks mod. So if that mod is required, that is a work around.

Just an fyi but not everybody has Overlay Frameworks (I don't) and experienced the greyed out save option (so no, OF is not the cause)

For me, the reason is a mod called HUDCAPS.

If you had that mod too, please go check those bug reports on it's nexusmods page.
