Not unless someone might be able to develop a script that converts the landmass to FO4 like they did for TTW, which would require you to have both games.
Technically it could be quite easy. Create a cell. Get a bitmap of the FO76 map. Paste it as a terrain decal. Add a fast travel point. Done. Fast Travel to the Map of FO76 could be a quest like the Treasure of Jamaica Plan. Probably easier just to paste it on the wall of a builidng.
Yes its totally possible to add the entire game because its the same engine. There have been official comments about modding in Fallout 76 already. But like someone already said they are legit different games and it would also need to be an official expansion or something, which would be cool.
I use the CK could copy and past the entire world and everything in it very easily. It started out literally identical to Fallout 4 in every way, any updates since it came out aside. Its a bit more complicated than copy and paste with some things but not alot different, it would literally just be alot of that.
There was a mod that added Fallout 3 to New Vegas for anyone that owned both games. Adding Fallout 76 to Fallout 4 would even be easier... Just saying. Ok maybe not easier, but not much different thats for sure.
I wonder if that is the beginning of the end for modding or maybe just finally cutting ties with gamebryo.
Fallout 4 assets are in Fallout 76, literally, so it literally cant be to different.
There are all sorts of videos of some spawning in the Prydwen from Fallout 4 for example.
Although maybe thats made new for Fallout 76 saying the BOS will show up there? I dont know.
Fallout 4 is using an earlier version of the engine. Which means you could not just take objects from Fallout 76 and copy paste them into Fallout 4.
You should not have even bothered to ask. Fallout 76 is four times larger than Fallout 4 in world area.
If you could see Fallout 4 below the map then there would be videos of it. no way the trolls could not resist posting that footage.
I have glitched through the map in Fallout 76 and the underneath is nothing like Fallout 4 was.
The fact that he called Fallout 76 a mod for Fallout 4 shows he has no idea about the differences between the games or engines.
This is what people do not understand. Meshes were completely redone in order to have more detail and allow them to break and become damaged.
Totally ironic people can remember some troll's video bashing Bethesda about 16 times the detail, but forget that when it comes to comparing engines.
However since one engine is a newer version of the other it most likely would never happen. The only way it could happen is if Fallout 4 was ported to the Fallout 76 engine. There is enough other changes to the game mechanics and stuff it would not happen because it would be well beyond and special edition upgrade.
Bethesda has always been kinda free with the use of their assets within the same game. Look at how many mods were using the warehouse and vault assets before they were made into actual assets in the DLCs. Which of course caused a massive stink because people accused Bethesda of stealing assets or complained those assets were already available in free mods.
Blizzard recently received massive blow back for the rules regarding the modded games for that Warcraft III: Reforged garbage pile they released. They said they basically own your mod to prevent people from doing anything similar to Defense of the Ancients.
Controlling assets and mods is a fine and tricky line to draw. Too loose and you get DOTA or Counterstrike. Too tight and your fan base hates you. I think Bethesda does fairly well walking that line.
It is so easy I wonder why none of you did it already
