Porting Purely Texture Mods to Console
Hello,

So, I have a retexture mod that I created. I don't have ba2's, .esps or anything else of the sort, I simply used the Archive Extractor to get the texture, opened it up in Gimp, retextured it, and dropped the retextured file into the proper data directory.

It works fine on my laptop. A friend of mine plays on xbox. He wants me to port the retexture to console so he can download it. I'm decently familiar with CreationKit, and I know how to port a normal mod to console. However, I have no idea how to port a mod that has no esps, ba2s or anything to console, since it's just texture files (bgsm or whatever) and not an actual mod mod.

Anyone want to guide me on this? Thanks!

What happens with a PC or laptop is the loose files you place in the proper game folder is used in place of the original texture file.

To my knowledge you can not just copy the files to an xbox to apply it you have to create a mod file that meets their restrictions that would somehow apply the new texture.

Yeah, that much I understand. I just don't know ***how*** to create an actual MOD, be it a .esp or whatever else, that only changes texture files. Something that CAN be ported to console.

If anyone does know how to do this, and wants to guide me, it would be mighty appreciated!

You'll have to use the Creation Kit and create a dummy ESP. When you upload, it'll prompt you about creating an archive; that's when you'll add your texture files.

Not sure if this will be helpful but it does explain how to pack files using the creation kit.
