Can’t get past the intro without CTD

I’m trying to start a new game but I installed a few mods and now the game won’t stop crashing during the intro. I get to vault 111 just as I’m about to be frozen and the game crashes. I can get fallout 76 and Skyrim SE both at max to run better than this so what the hells going on with my game? I got a GTX 1660 btw.

Also I tried turning off all my mods, default launcher and running strictly vanilla, still crashes. My mods I got are all just weapon, armor and quest mods with some OWB radio thrown in.

And that worked somehow. Christ what a mess this game can be.

Ok and I turned my mods back on and started a new game and it’s starting to crash again. I forgot how much this game personally offends me.

Thank you Haerken, you solved my problem. I'm not even running any mods, and this is a fresh install with my new 2070 Super, and the game crashes if I have Weapon Debris on at all.

I love Fallout 4, but yeah, mechanically it's garbage.

For any modders running into this problem, there's a fix on the Nexus that worked wonders for me. (not my mod, just sharing it)

I have to say that I never would have figured this out. Turning off weapon debris. It works like a charm (I was CTDing consistently whilst running to the shelter in the very beginning). I haven't had an issue since. Before the internet, how would one have ever worked through such problems?

Dude I was just having this problem with mods. Figured I'd just purge them and play vanilla. It still crashed when I tried to play and I found this... now I can reinstall all my mods...
