Ah, ok thanks you two - I realized it was probably different than the Crafted containers, but I wasn't sure if it was 'dangerous' or not.
I was just testing it, leaving something in there, but now I'll go get it soon for sure then lol
Thanks again, pancakes for yous
I've also thought the same about cleared areas where enemies don't respawn - say Fort Hagen and the vault linked off Park Street Station. I've ventured back into both areas, long after clearing them and I'm pretty sure the container contents I'd looted hadn't respawned. The corpses in Park Street Station hadn't disappeared either. Maybe these areas are safe for storage?
Work stations scattered across the Commonwealth might also be safe to store items. Pretty sure I've seen comments along those lines. Those in Diamond City seem to hold junk without it ever disappearing.
Yes, Work Stations seem to work - I can't remember how long in-game it's been, to be exact, but I've left things in Diamond City too, as well as a couple out in the world (one of those little alcove garages in Downtown, etc) - and I've gone back much later to find the stuff still in there to work with. It's good if it was intended, I will look forward to that in my Survival Mode game I started...
Or at an empty settlement if ya decide to build one at it
