Crafting ammo, selling water and making caps!
Hey!

It seems making a factory to craft ammo aint hard at all. The real problem might be the ingredients necessary to craft it... stuff like fertilizer isnt cheap or easy to find so is it worth investing into? Is there maybe an ammunition type or some other manufactered goods that are easy to craft and can sell for a lot?

I found out some people just install tons of water purifiers in lots of settlements and make a fortune selling that... I hope this is not the most profitable way to make caps in this game haha... sounds kinda cheap... but hey, maybe demands is really high, right?

I would love to hear some sugestions on this side of the game, I mean, crafting and selling stuff sounds awesome!

Its a shame the number of settlers dont seem to benefit the economy in any way, at least from what I learned so far.

Water is the best way to make infinite $.
For each water rating over the number of settlers in a settlement, you have a 75% of getting 1 purified water. You need to clear all drinks out of your workshop every day or no new water will be generated.
You can make enough $ to buy every item from every shop in the game every time they reset...

Fertilizer is used for jet and ammo, hard to get a ton of it.
(Brahmin are capped at making 3/day/settlement, if the workshop has 10+ stored they will stop generating any until it is cleared out.)

Fertiliser is produced by Brahmin, set up a couple of cages in a few settlements and you can end up making a lot of it.

Yup, just release them into a pen (Which is safer, but it's perfectly fine to let them wander the settlement) Look for the cages menu (I think it's under power, but I may be wrong).

I know some brahmin show up if theres food in the settlement... maybe if I plant lots of razorgrain and leave one of those bath tubs where they eat they will show up?

Never had to use "exploit" to be rich in this game. If you take time to scavenge and sell all the chems/ammo/crafted items you will have more then enough material to run your factories and more then enough cash to buy whatever you fancy.

Yeah I know, but farming and making money this way could be really fun! Playing like travelling a trader of sorts :D

The amount of fertilizer brahmin make is quite limited.
You can buy brahmin from Kelly (I think that is her name) - random road encounter.
When a settler shows up to your settlement there is a chance they bring brahmin with them.
Abernathy farm starts with one.
You can use cages to get brahmin as well.

The feedbin just cause brahmin to sort of stay in the area where it is placed.
What type of plants you place have no effect on getting brahmin.

Having one or more Brahmin will increase food output by up to 50%, capped at +5 food per brahim. (this is food added to the workshop, not food rating)

Looks like you can have a maximum of 3 fertilizers (from 3 brahmins) a day, but Im not sure if this is the total cap or if every settlement can produce that. Filling every settlement with 3 brahmins shouldnt be too hard :P

If I manage to fill 10 settlements with brahmin I could have enough dung to become a druglord! Tho... maybe selling water and buying fertilizer could be more efficient... but hoarding poo should be more fun.

Got make sure to connect a vacuum hopper to a workbench or risk losing both... tho it could defeat the purpose of having that "leader" perk...

Any idea about how much of each item a workshop can store?

Every settlement will have its own brahmin->fertiliser limit, same as production of other things liek water, flares, caps, artillery grenades etc. Its a big part of how my experiments into a minigun only (after obtaining one) character functioned. The other parts being the use of VATS and damage multiplier stacking (ab)use.

I can't say if supply lines may mess it up however as I didn't have Local Leader, I was wandering around to collect it, but I shouldn't think so as it doesn't hit the other stuff I mentioned.

Crafting glue is also good.

something something 6420 water[imgur.com]

Supply lines won't mess anything up, they just let settlers use other workshops food/water if their settlement is short (and let you use junk from other workshops when building)
