Gamebreaking Audio bug
Hi guys, im having a huge issue with my game, suddenly out of nowhere there is constantly engine/generator sound comming, its really loud and dephening. I tried to save and load dozens of times, but it only sometimes changes the type of sound, from what i found some poeople had similiar issue that was solved by equiping one weapon, but i never used it in first place so im sure that wont help in this case. Somebody else said they just turned off sound effects, but i wont play game like that. Anyone who had similiar issue and found solution ?

Update: after testing some more things i think i found culprit = robot workbench, sadly im no closer to finding solution, except extremely limited solution, standing next to workbench after using it. If i move 15 meters away, workbench sounds start again. If i use it, stand to it, remove it, sounds start again. Saving game next to workbench while there is no sound and loading makes the sound start again. And if i walk away and just stand next to it, the sound continues, only when i click on it, it stops while im next to it. Please anyone have any idea what to do with this ?

Im getting tired of this buggy game ... in my last playthrough i couldnt listen to radio because dj would always play two songs at same time, but this is whole new level, no sounds effects... cant do, i hope there is other solution then star new game again.

Im aware of only steam overlay and nvidia overlay, but then again i played like this for nearly 50 hours before this bug first appeared.

perhaps start a new game. if the sound is fine, then the bug is this save game. might have to go back to an older save.

new character is fine, no weird sounds there, but loading earlier save game didnt changed nothing, even save old 40 hours before bug appeared is having the same issue. I just dont want to start all over again when im this far in again.

but the weird sounds werent in the 40 hr save file when you played that originally. they are there now on replay would seem to indicate a non game cause.

I meant win 10 xbox game overlay. in the realtek audio manager, sound effects turned off, correct?

There's a rare glitch where some sound effects that are external (generators, turrets, squeeking or hammering workbench sounds, etc..) become "tied" to your character in certain situations. The easiest fix is to reload an earlier save prior the problem.

Thanks, ive read quite few discussions of people with similiar (not exactly the same) issue, somebody said that they had different sounds tied to them, or that NPC was actually making generator sound. But all the fixes they mentioned, except turning sounds effects off all together, didnt worked. Loading earlier save game does nothing for me, i also read this is called "sticky" bug in fallout 4 and its very rare... i just cant help feeling hoepelss this happened to me... again. Granted in 150+ hours in game of this size i would expect some bugs, but not of this caliber.

Please, anyone have idea how to stop the robot workbench sound from playing non stop?
Ez Duzit Aug 11, 2018 @ 10:55am
Are you 100% sure it's a robot workbench sound and not an armor or weapon workbench sound?

Ups, so its not robot workbench, all workbenchs do the same thing, if im near them after using them, no sound of generator. Would it help if i uploaded video of it, so somebody could help me recognize from what device the sound is ?

The reason I asked about the specific type of workbench is a while ago, I read a post somewhere about someone having this problem with workbench sounds. They had to go back to the exact same workbench where the problem started and when they finally remembered which one it was, and crafted something there, and when they were done crafting, the noise finally stopped.

Has to be the same exact workbench the problem originated from. If you can figure that out maybe you can get it to stop. No guarantee though.
