Battle of Bunker Hill: No door to the roof at CIT ruins and it MAKES me kill the synths

I tried letting the synths live and killing the courser but it wouldn't let me go forward without re-coding them or killing them, and no matter what I did with the synths, the roof access at the CIT ruins is covered with plywood. I cannot get to the roof to speak with Father, which leaves me at a dead end. I've killed all the turrets; I notified the Brotherhood and the Railroad before the fight; I let the Courser live until I spoke with the hiding synths the time I tried to free them. I even tried using the console command to walk through the plywood-covered door, but no Father, and most of the roof was missing.

Try opening the console and type tcl, which disables clipping. Float up to the roof (from outside, not from the inside of the building) and disable it by typing tcl again.

Are you sure that was the door I found that the pointer can sometimes mislead us and point to a nearby unusable one when the actual one was at the other end up some stairs.

Baring that tcl, a jetpack or dragging a lot of things to climb on to a certain area would be the only way to get to the roof. Unless the command movetqt happens to work on that quest.

Ah. Floading up over the top from the outside did the trick after using the tcl. Thanks for the tip.

you have to enter the U shaped CIT building the Super mutants amd Synth are fighting each other and make your way around the corridors, it's in one of the corners of the building

No there are 2 staircases. Use the one that is furthest from the main doors

!!!! OMG as many times as I have been in that building I have never found the wide staircase in the SE corner. Thanks rogere1164
