You need to cap the game to 60 FPS. Or it will run weird. That's right. Only 60 FPS. The game engine is based on a very old engine. With lots of duct tape added. Use the Nvidia/AMD tool to cap.

That is true. Setting the monitor to 60 Hz and Vsync on will work. But then you have to change the monitor back and forth when you play.

You can use G-sync (or Freesync, depending on your monitor model) so you don't have to change your refresh rate manually every time. Just don't forget to limit fps to 60 via NVinspector or MSI afterburner.

BUT I WANT 240 FPS
Oak Sorcerer Dec 3, 2019 @ 6:22am
It's impossible due to engine limitation.

So give him 240 FPS and when the game crashes constantly he can come back and complain about the crashes. Then we all get a good laugh at him for it.

Maybe someday people will release games have a FPS limitation for a reason. That reason is usually consoles.

I doubt it. The game can cap itself to 1/2 the frame rate on a high fps monitor. The update rate from the video card to the monitor is something different. Read the link I posted. There are several posts on that page to read. Nothing more on the following pages.

I doubt it as well. High FPS causes everything to go wonky (physics, lockpicking, scripting, etc)
LostBoyLazarus Dec 3, 2019 @ 9:18am
*Shrugs* Doubt it all you like, I'm telling you I play at 120 without issue. There are drops around city areas but never had issues with physics etc. I am using mods that affect these things though so maybe I've never experienced them due to that? Point is saying "you need to cap the game to 60 FPS" is BS.

It's not BS when 99% of people have issues with it.
You are part of the suspicious 1% (with no proof btw).
Go figure.
LostBoyLazarus Dec 3, 2019 @ 9:24am
Please explain to me how I'm in the suspicious 1%? I installed FO4, modded the game and have a stable FPS higher than 60 FPS. Yes, I also see lots of posts where people claim you can't play above 60 FPS and I laugh every time. Just look on YT for proof. There are loads of people who have made this game work properly.

But of course, I must be lying *rolls eyes*

***EDIT*** That said, I did find Sturges levitating above his bed earlier but I'd hardly call that game breaking.

It aint even 1%, I can find 100s of topics that people resolved their issues by capping FPS to 60.

Know how many topics I can find on how to run the game above 60 fps? ZERO

This is correct. You are. There are people who are experts on how this game engine works. I gave a link to where they hang out on the forum. Could be that you have no idea what the difference is between the game updating to the video card and the video card updating to the monitor. You sound like someone who is clueless about how computers work.

Unless I'm mistaken, the statement is that FO4 can't be played above 60 FPS without issues. I'm playing at a higher FPS and (so far) have had no issues. I genuinely don't understand why I'm the bad person here? Help me to understand what I'm missing? Not even trolling - I don't get why I'm wrong?
