Unkillable mirelurk - am I just screwed? (Northwood Ridge Quarry area)

On the island (Far Harbour DLC) I've encountered a mirelurk that just won't die.

I've tried shooting it, I've tried hitting it, I've tried throwing grenades/mines, I've tried letting my companion hurt it, I've tried leaving the area and coming back, I've tried restarting the game, I've tried restarting my computer, I've tried console commands... VATS won't lock onto it either. It's like it's not there - except it does hurt me, which sucks as I'm trying to play on Survival.

The mirelurk is in the Northwood Ridge Quarry area, although about 20 minutes of gameplay ago I did encounter either the very same one or another mirelurk that was also glitched out, but not in the actual quarry, it was in an area not too far away from the quarry. I just ran away from it hoping it would fix it... Which it did, until I encountered it again.

I keep seeing posts all over the internet of people having issues with invincible creatures, but not too much info on how to fix it. Some say the companion can kill the creature for them, but that's not the case with mine. Console commands don't work either (I've tried both "kill" and "recycleactor" a million times), which was another possible fix. Restarting the game/computer did nothing.

Is there anything else I can try to actually fix it, or am I doomed to try to outrun it whilst looting and actually attempting to enjoy the game?

You can use a console command to kill it. Or a console command to make it killable. It sounds like the essential flag was set by mistake.

Open console, click it, type "disable", poof it's gone forever.
