This Enormous Waste Of Time
Woke up; it's 0700. The weather is fog--visibility 30 feet max. The fog physically hurts my eyes. I have astigmatism in both, a condition I share with millions of other Americans. I sit in a chair and wait two hours, hoping the fog will burn off in that time. Time 0900; weather fog; visibility 30 feet. Two more hours in the chair.

Time 1100 Weather fog; visibility 30 feet max. Ah, Hell, the game's going to waste another day. If the developers thought I was going to crawl out into this soup and actually try to find anywhere, they thought wrong. But I'd like to see them exposed to this sort of painful lighting for a coupld of hours. I never go to Far Harbor anymore; it's foggy just about every hour of every day, so, for me, that DLC is a complete waste of money.

Time 1400; weather fog, visibility 30 feet max. Most fogs in my area of the country burn off before the afternoon. Glad I don't live in Boston. Time 1500; weather, a lightning storm. Great! If I'm not going anywhere in fog I sure as Hell aren't going to try to navigate in this mess. Time 1800, weather--appears to be clearing. Quick; i have time to make it to my next settlement. A quarter mile down the road. Fooled you; the fog didn't go away. It just moved a ways down the road. You're not going anywhere today--back to base.

So, the game has totally wasted another day. This current segment of the game, where I'm trying to take over Spectacle Island, It's been mostly foggy, or raining several days in a row. My desire to tie a couple of developers in chairs and expose them to strobe lights for hours, no, days in a row has become bothersome. Surely I don't really want to do this. Do I???

Vanilla weather is usualy 80% sunny and the rest some Rain and Storms.. If you want it more easy there are several ways:
1. Get Cheat Terminal - it lets you change weather too (no need to use all cheats)
2. Get True Storms - it comes with a Holotape that lets you control the weather too

And finaly if you dislike fog that mutch, i better suggest you not to get Far Harbor - its one big Island full of fog :cozyfallout4:

I don't think I can use the console in survival mode.

Should have just spent the day in your pool, drink a few beers, take a few drugs and mellow out.

You're not supposed to survive then, case closed

Fairly sure there are fireworks that change the weather.

I did manage to get 700 units of concrete and 250 units of steel, which will make a good start on this game's resort. plus the weather was fairly decent when I killed the Mirelurk Queen and a dozen or so lower grade mirelurks. Plus I walked my suit of power armor over to the island from the mainland.

I use it to help me line up all those 8 feet cubes of concrete that make up the foundation and form the pool. But the area at Taffington Boathouse is relatively primitive, and it's a little hard to kick back and relax.

Yep, you drop the difficulty to lower, use the console command you desire, then use a second console command to enable survival again. Search forums "Console enable survival."

Not really something to deal with constantly but it works in a pinch.

In the end if the fog is that much of an issue just use a mod to disable it.

Build a weather device and change the weather to sunny...

@raubrey: I did. I played through a complete game of Baldur's Gate. I don't know if you're familiar with the game, but I played as a fighter/berserker. Got to level seven before we went up against Sarevok. He kicked our behinds, and I had to lower difficulty to easy to beat him. The ending of that game is much harder than any part of Fallout 4.

But you were only gone for like one day. How you play that fast? According to the game time sites 30 hours minimum for the game. I assume you did a speed-run kind of playthrough. Unless you kept posting here while you did BG. I keep thinking of getting the remasterd versions.

Thought I spent a week or so playing. There are some short cuts you can take at the start to gain some levels quickly. Like if you want level two quickly, get a sling, and go kill a few ghasts. If they get hand to hand they'll kill you, but they're slow.
