Most have automatic in the name of the reciever or you can just shoot them and see

im pretty sure you cant see ur radiation level in numbers or %, probably mods for that

having a receiver with automatic on it's name means its automatic

All my present guns don't have the name automatic beside receiver in "Inspect" menu", like those 10mm pistols, combat shotgun, marksman rifle and all...

Hold the left mousebutton for a couple of seconds. If the gun goes "pew pew pew!" (or more) it's automatic. If it just does "pew!" it isn't.

you can check the firerates. I don't have the numbers, but if you have an automatic gun as reference, you can compare their firerate and guess from there.
PS : Apart from bolt-action, every weapon can be automatic, if you masturbate the left mouse button enough :^)

Then what makes you think they're automatic? If you hold down the attack button, do they repeatedly fire?

Though heavy weapons (like the flamer, gatling laser, or minigun) will never count as automatic weapons, because the game counts them as being in that category instead of being automatic, even though they do fire continuously.

I can think of at least three different ways this is wrong. On the upside, at least you've got a high firerate. :steammocking:

You may wish to look at the various weapons on thw wiki if this is bothering you. You can research which weapons are capable of being made automatic or are intrinisicly automatic. Gauss rifles, hunting rifles, revolvers of all types, lever action rifles, douvle barrel shoguns can not be automatic. Don't worry about heavy weapons as they are under a different damage perk.

Simplest way to find out:
Equip the weapon, point it on the gorund, and hold down the trigger. if it fires continuously it's automatic.
Oh, or another simple test: If there's an enemy around, target it in VATS mode with the wepaon oyu want to test. Only automatic weapons fire multiple shots in VATS (except double-shot legendaries ofc :P)

Like previous People said, by inspecting the receiver you can tell wether a gun is automatic or not, but be aware there are exceptions, like Laser/Plasma rifles, you can tell the fire mode at their barrel. Also you see your raddiation with in a small Speedometer-like devise to the right side of your Pip-Boy screen

This is absolutely untrue.

Then it is bugged for you. only automatic weapons should fire the 10-shot bursts in Vats (well, minigun/lase rgalting ofc, but they are i nthe usual strange limbo of 'heavy' weapons)

ok following this theory, the assault rifle .308 receiver is not automatic, but which catagory is it under?

The "doesn't exist" category. Do you mean combat rifle?

They're extremely different weapons.
