About Starting Special Stats Guide
Hello all,

I am new to this game and depending on my playstyle i want to have a good start. My play style will be around stealth sniper and i wanna be able to do all lockpicking/science stuff too. If with low charisma, if i am able to keep the dog, then i am ok with low charisma.

So my preference for starting;
-Strength 2 ( will be 3 for armor with +1 item)
-Perception 6 or 7
-Endurance 2 or 3
-Charisma 2 or 3
-Intelligence 4 or 5
-Agility 6 or 7
-Luck 1

What do you think? Do i have anything that i should change?

perception 4. for lockpicking. Maybe 5 for demolitions which is great for any build letting your grenades, mines, explosives do greater damage. Don't really need more than that.

Intelligence 4 for hacking, you'll get higher later for science, etc but 4 good to start.

Agility 7 for ninja, but you might not need that right at the start can raise up later. Minimum 5 for action boy/girl.

don't need more than 1 endurance really

strength 3 for armorer. later 5 for heavy weapons if you want your rocket launchers/fatmen to rock and roll (along with your demolitions).

Only need charmsia really for lone wanderer (3) for early game, and 6 for settlement building later in the game. can raise up later. I personally would take 3 for lone wanderer perks they are good and work with the dog.

Luck is a great stat, always great to pump that up with any extra stat points there are TONS of useful perks you can take, especially with using vats. but you'll need 5 for faster leveling with idiot savant if you want, and minimum of 6 to really get the good luck perks which are all at higher levels (better criticals, critical banker, etc). Stealth sniping is great, but being able to do easy guaranteed critical hits always nice)

This is not like Fallout 3 and most of you listen to what Buggs, Jeff, and Polecat said before Buggs quit, Jeff was suspended, and Polecat was banned those stats don't work and Idiot Savant won't work on Normal or Survival unless you are modding your game like they were doing or using cheat commands.

When you leave the Vault you need to set your Special as fallows: Strength set this at at 4 take Blacksmith and Armorer at Level 2 and 3, Perception set this at 4 take all the perks, do not boost it to Level 5 until later you don't need Demo Expert until you are ready to use heavy weapons, Endurance set this at 1 all the perks are garbage you don't need them until later only take Toughness, Charisma set this at 6 you need it for Local Leader and Barter/Cap Collector those are the only ones you take the rest are garbage, Intelligence set this at 6 boost it to 8 for Automaton take all perks except VANS use Shaun's SPECIAL book and raise 7 Intelligence for Chemist, Agility set this at 5 the rest of the perks you don't need, and Luck set this at 2 you only need Fortune Finder and Scrounger don't go wasting all your points on Idiot Savant thats how you can get killed.

Fallout 4 is about settlement building like Fallout New Vegas not roleplaying like Fallout 3 or those knockoffs the Chinese make. Mods and cheats will get you so far but if you want to win the game you need the right special to get you started.
You can literally sniper build with 1 perception. The bottlehead will get you to 2. It's a Vats sniper that need perception.
