What level do you normally kill Kellogg
I'm level 20 and don't know if I'm rushing into it or I'm a good level

Depends entirely on how fast you want to play through the main story line. My current game I did Nuka World, siding with the raiders first, then killed off the raiders, started the Minuteman quest line, then killed Kellogg at level 60 something.

Should be fine. If not, come back and ask for tips. There is much cheesing that can be done if you find the fight too difficult but hey, give it a shot. :)

I like opening up that Act of the game, too. It makes the world seem more alive.

Sneaking and Chameleon on armour will increase your chances. A good suppressed auto weapon and a few frag mines should help.

That's how I did it, I munched one or two stealth boys during that fight, and I never rely on chameleon or invisibility as it screws up your PIP boy.

My 3 most op builds were at these levels when they won.

Caleb Pryce the soldier
Was only level 13

Gavin McNeil the politician
Was level 16

Catherine Yates the scientist
Was level 18

A good build can win at least in the tens.

Pipboy never works for me somehow, even with my sneaky character the enemies always manage to shoot me. In this fight I simply ran out the door, dropping mines behind me. Then I stood near the door to the office and started shhoting with the shotgun at the door once the mines went off so that Kellog would just run through my line of fire, unseen but dead.

Enemies are capped so it doesn't really matter what lvl you have.

yeah i was level 30 before I bothered to start following the yellow brick road or whatever the story line does to send you to oz.

right now I am level 114 or so and haven't done far harbor or nuka world, but I have done the first half or so of the main quest line. it just didn't grab me, but the world did, so I kept exploring.

By the time I killed kellog, his 'loot' wasn't really worth taking, so I gave it to my romantic interest in-game at the time. Which makes me think level 20 is probably a good level to go see him at. level 30 was too high of a level as the encounter ended up being pretty easy since I was overleveled. I even was over burdened too since I was taking everything I found (and still do for some reason!)
