Crit Sniper builds
Hey guys, new to the community, whazzup.

Thought I might give an impression of my build at level 96 on Very Hard. Essentially at the end of the game.

Seems like since Fallout 1, I always end up running a stealth rifle sniper build. Elder Scrolls first characters also go this way.

Ended up working with:
Lucky handmade rifle doing damage 136, rate 40, range 191, accuracy 77, clip 30, five shots in VATS
Chilling gauss rifle doing damage 364, rate 66, range 185, accuracy 113, clip 20, three shots in VATS

Base attibutes:
Strength 3
Perception 10
Endurance 4
Charisma 7
Intelligence 8
Agility 10
Luck 10
Six levels unspent

Maxed perks:
Rifleman
Armorer
Gun Nut
Sneak
Mister Sandman
Local Leader
Science
Better Criticals
Ninja
Grim Reaper's Sprint
Penetrator
Four Leaf Clover
Concentrated Fire
Gun Fu (not very useful)

Can fill the critical meter in three shots with the lucky rifle, and can bank five of them, so basically I have unlimited criticals unless things are very, very busy.

If you can get some tiny glimpse of someone through a window, you can kill them with a headshot no worries. This character basically walks through anything with no problems at all.

Armor is reinforced Minuteman uniform, trilby hat, black rim glasses, and metal right arm for two points of luck.

Character concept was to be a nice Fifties guy, always loyal to his wife and doing the best for everyone.

What do you think about crit sniper builds?

My last sniper stuck to a classic with the Two Shot Hunting rifle and that does pretty well with a Powerful Calibrated Receiver. If you strike from stealth with Ninja you can drop tough foes short of upper tier Behemoths or Deathskull Radscorpions.

Probably the most useful stim is jetfuel I think. Just for those situations where there's too much going on.
