Something is tanking my Perception? How?
I was just checking my inventory, and noticed that something is generating a massive drain on my Perception. The problem is, I can't tell what is doing it. Nothing shows up in perks, and there aren't any listed status effects. And it's not something I can ignore, since it seems to be draining away about five points - *with* clothes and a hat that boosts perception on, I still barely have any left.

Since there's not visible effects listed, I have no idea how to fix this. And I'm pretty well crippled unless I find a way to fix it. :(

PROBLEM SOLVED!

If you are still looking for a solution to this problem like I was, I found a fix! Mujokan's post above gave me the idea, but it's basically doing the Med-X thing with bug poison but backwards.

Specifically for me, I was playing survival, and my Perception dropped after I was poisoned by a Stingwing and then immediately took Med-X. I was in survival and could not use console commands.

To fix, I first found another Stingwing and waited far enough away from it so it would not see me. Then, I took Med-X and immediately after exiting my Pip-Boy started a 5 minute timer (because Med-X lasts exactly 5 minutes in a survival game if you don't pause or go into your Pip-Boy). I approached the Stingwing when the 5 minute timer was almost up and got poisoned by the Stingwing just a couple of seconds before the Med-X wore off. Finally, I killed the Stingwing, and my Perception was back where it was supposed to be!

Save the game right before trying this, as it may take a couple of tries to get the timing just right.

Thank you so much!! I have been trying different things for an hour now and I was about to give up. This worked on my first try :steamhappy:

You magnificent b*****ed it worked!
thanks Doom, I hate being the only person who ever posts the re-enable command.

be sure you only enter it ONCE... you're trying to decrement a 1 back to a 0... if it's any other value except 0, you cannot re-enable survival...

you can check it's 0 with 'getpcms "Survival Denied" ' - if you think you entered it too many times and it's now -5 or something, then adjust that line accordingly, 'cgf "Game.IncrementStat" "Survival Denied" 5' would make it 0 in my example...

throw in a 'player.setav perception #' , re-enable survival mode, and off you go. no save was harmed during this bug.

Its a Necro, he was like the first to post it. Why I gave him the extra helpful award years ago in one of the last times it was necroed, lol.
