Where the Hell are the Workshop cages?
I found VERY detailed information about cages that are used to trap and tame [with the aid of beta wave emitters] wildlife…excepting the most important "little" detail of all: Where in the bloody Hell does one find the cages in the workshop menu? I have the required DLC installed, but the only two cages I can find are purely ornamental, having no ability whatsoever to attract and trap any animal at all, let alone gorillas and mirelurks.

…And why do they even have cat-trapping cages? It's not like you can incite them to attack settlers, or crap on their pillows, and they flee at the first sign of mole-rats.

When you are in build mode, they should be to the right of crafting.

Cats increase settlement happiness. That is their sole purpose. The dog cage can catch a tame junkyard dog. Just like the one you can buy from Gene. They increase happiness and defence.

At the main menu make sure you have the DLC enabled.

It's the second last tab in my game next to the "raider" tab.

If I may pop in, here is a Screenshot showing the CAGES category in the Workshop Mode Menu (in a freshly-captured Outpost Zimonja):

Well i recently did a reinstall and the DLC were download and installed as far as Steam was concerned. However once in game I was liek WTF where is my stuff? I went bakc to the main menu and enabled all the DLCs.

I don't understand about "enable DLCs in main menu;" I see nothing about enabling, and there's no DLC main menu item. The closest thing I can find to it is Add-Ons, which only shows the INSTALLED DLCs. There's an option to buy, but I already own all of them, and they are all showing as installed…so where's this arcane "enabling" supposed to take place? I simply don't see it.

And the cages shown in the screenshot? There are only two, and they serve no useful purpose; they're just ornamental.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall to see the cage options I'm supposed to see? I'll try verifying cache…again.

So you do see the screenshot in Tesityrs screenshot? Correct?

Then if you click on that icon (or use up arrow) you see a list like this?

Then if you click on 'large cages' you see a list like this?

Okay, guys—I appreciate your help; I really do. It turns out my cache was corrupted. When I verified, it failed validation, so the currupted data was reacquired. Now when I look at cages, I see what I'm supposed to. Now I can trap critters and such. You've been most helpful.

Again, thanks!

…And I didn't know that about cats. Kinda funny and cool at the same time. Wonder if there's a mod that yields interaction prompts with cats allowing you to pet them….

Now that would be fun, of course my character would never be able to leave Sanctuary if I made him pet all 47 cats.

Feck. I think I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died ROFLing.

…And has anyone else noticed that the censor now ignores "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" when it used to "heart it out?" Been this way a couple of months. About ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time the feckin' Holy Roller bible-thumpers stopped being a consideration on these forums, right? Like they even play these games…the non-hypocriitical ones, anyway. They still have kittens over Postal 2.

Maybe they ought to pet those kittens they hatch.

Back when I used to use Abernathy Farm a lot I used to dump eveyrthing on the ground on the proch by the workshop. Maisy used to plow throw the junk and stop and roll over in it and such.

Speaking of the dog cages ONLY open them after you wake up in the morning on survival. You can get the glowing sea hounds at ANY level. Also open cage results can be save scummed.

True. Good point. Also, always wear your power armer and have your best gun out. (combat shotgun). And make sure some armed settlers and/or turrets are nearby.
