Robot Home Defence Mod help

So i have the mod installed, along with the Automatron followers side mod.
except that i cant open the terminal when i go up to a robot.
the option is there, but when i presss r nothing happens.
the mod page said that this can happen if any mods interfier with the robotics perk, but i dont think i have any mods that do that..
Does anyone know what i can do?
