Outside of that, if the roaming traders and traders in Diamond city are doing this then it's gotta be a mod or something.
You should see if it persists on a new game, then know for sure your old save is done for or not :P
The only "mods" I have are a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ packs from CC and the Unofficial Patch—I've already uninstalled the HD Textures Pack.
Thanks for the input. I'll have to check my stalls for damagewhile in Worskshop Mode, as damage may not be visually apparent.
Too, I only approach vendors when they are operating at their posts or are caravaning.
The only other nighttime vendor that comes to mind is the Mr. Handy that works at Myrna's junk shop in diamond city.
EDIT: This mod:

I found it invaluable. Has the added bonus of making the place more lively too instead of being crowded at day only (Causing npc pathing nightares) By splitting the settlers up using that mod you can have social settlers, day or night shift settlers and even organize your supply lines a bit better.
