Then again, it might have something to do with me shooting raiders on sight and rarely ever getting close enough to overhear their conversations?
Sounds pretty strange though. I would get a laugh from meeting that guy, I'm sure.
My guess is those are from Sentry Bots or anything with Robobrain treads? I thought they were pretty weird when I first saw them and wasted quite a bit of time trying to follow them and track down the source.
So who knows, maybe vehicles do work you just don't see them. I mean come on the Raiders know what a motorcycle was and how they sounded.
Your right, there really isn't a need or purpose for me to see the vehicle that left these tracks behind. to many chefs as they say.
That's what struck me weird about hearing them the first time. How does this guy (and the guy he's talking about) know what a motorcycle sounds like.
THen again, how are there so many people with foreign accents? They come over here on sailboats?
He won't be the next game has no NPCs besides Robots/super mutants/ghouls and happens way before this game.

I had some Sentry Bot following me around when I first saw those strange tracks. By my estimation, they were a similar enough width to easily explain it.
It's a video game world, there are "vehicles", you can believe whatever you like. It's not very good "proof" of Bethesda's ineptitude however...if that's the best you can come up with, then you're trying way too hard.
In my mind, some artist took the time to draw those tracks. It's possible the artist knew next to nothing about the game, maybe they were just really into tread marks? Or another explanation is that they were made by things we already know about in the game.
I have no idea. You asked, and I shared my thoughts.
But Michael Winslow would be perfect to play him.
and thanks Gerald, I'll add that clip to the OP.
