Fallout Missing ini file
Okay before anyone yells at me saying to look for the other topics about this I already have looked through everything and tried. Multiple times. Maybe it's just me being a potato, I have no idea at this point honestly.

I have GOTY edition for Fallout 4 and the moment I synched up Nexus after downloading it said "missing ini fi;e. Please run Fallout 4 to initialize the file before installing any mods or turning on Archive Invalidation."

I was like "oh, of course. it just needs to generate the file" so I started my game and played up to after you make a character, saved and came back out. still nothing. me being optimistic I'm like, "oh, okay let me get through the vault and then exit it. maybe then it will work." I do it. Still nothing.

I go to google seeing if others are having the problem and I do what they say. I even reinstall my game to have a fresh start, did it all again and still nothing.

Ideas?

Try verifying the file integrity.

Thank, I'll try that.

Firstly: I'm just going to reinstall Fallot 4 again and work from the start just to make sure I don't make any mistakes.

Do you know if there's a full-on guide anywhere that I can look at it to see if I'm doing things right? Like from start to finish?

If the game says the INI files are missing, plese perform the following steps.

1-Go to your Documents folder.

2-In Documents, go to My Games.

3-Go to Fallout 4.

Inside this folder, youshould have 2 or 3 INI files, depending on wether you use mods or not.

The 2 main files are "fallout.INI" and "falloutprefs.INI", and "falloutcustom.INI" if you use mods.

If either of the first two are missing, launch fallout 4 via the PLAY button in your steam library. This will start the launcher, which should generate new INI files for you.

Also, even though you probably already know this, they might not have the ".INI" at the end. Mine are just "fallout", "falloutcustom", without the ".INI".
