On the dashboard there is a row of buttons starting with introduction video
Below this is a line that is a slider to move unseen buttons into view.
if the vortex window is not sized so all fit at once we have to slide that left or right to reveal the buttons that are not visable.
Optionally click the square by the x in the upper right corner to maximize the vortex window.
For you perhaps, for myself I have had little to no issue with it even imported fallout 4, new vegas and skyrim special edition from nmm to vortex.
Sorry to hear you have had issues....
I have successfully modded Fallout 3, Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 to the same as I had them before using Vortex (FO3 was manual, other two were NMM).
I find it's ease for dealing with conflicts pretty damn good. And it has never messed anything up.
You could create a new topic for your problem. I advise to post this question on Nexus forums because you might get more help about Vortex there.
I did some googling (because I do not use Vortex myself) and found this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6818772-how-to-fix-mod-deployment/
Please check the second post in that thread. If that did not help, create a new discussion there, ask your question and say that you have followed the advices made in the above thread.
do i use F:\Vortex\fallout4\mods ?
what do i do ?!?!
please anyone just help me with that " staging folder " thing already ! .... i don't get it.
And the forum post did not help, too complex.
I think was covered in one of the video tutorials but basically you simply go into settings mods and set it to an empty folder for example {USERDATA}\{GAME}\mods.
This should use a folder called mods in each games directory. You may have to manually make the folder if it does not already exist.
You can also go into the downloads and change the place it will download mods to its default (since I did not change it ) is the {USERDATA}\downloads
but just resorted to Downloading NexusModManager again and using it instead.
Its your choice just understand that in the near future if not already you will need to manually download the mods, check for any updates, and install with the add from file selection.
