Back Street Apparel
Hello, question again!

I got a mission to oust some raider from there, from a new farm settlements that claim they have issue with theses raiders. So I went by and I have a few questions.

Is this location can serve later purpose, like If I complete this mission, will the location stay ''empty'' after that ? I see there is a workbench in it. If I come back later, will the stuff still be there ?

I feel like I may have gotten there too quiclkly somehow, as there is a safe that require master lockpicking... damn it!

IIRC the workstation can store stuff, but there are not other safe storage spots as the raiders will respawn.

There are usable work stations all over the map, but you can't use those locations as settlements as they will respawn/refresh the containers and areas

Almost everything in FO4 will respawn eventually. Even the unique, named bosses. I do not know if BS is exempt. I have read that workshops are safe for storage, but I never tried that myself. You will probably need to come back someday. But it might be a long time before you do. Just do the quest and move on. If you never take the lockpick skill, you might have a companion someday that will help. Go back when you can. Make a note to remember where all the strong safes are.

Also, the game does push you too fast to go places beyond your ability. Like the mention of a museum. Going there before level 40 is not good.

Workbenches of all kinds are basically safe (they won't respawn, but NPCs in combat nearby might try to take weapons out of them to use), but you should otherwise assume as a default that anything else outside of a settlement will respawn.

You'll find some of the exceptions eventually (particularly with parts of the main faction bases), but wait until you notice them not respawning before you trust them.

It's doable, the guest is leveled. And you find the tools to handle it in there as well. But yeah if you don't know it's there things get nasty quick, but there are tactics you can use

The only times enemys will not respawn is if they are killed off in a settlement location.

Everywhere else they come back after 72 in game hours

Back Street Apparel is a regular quest location used by every faction in the game. I have done a Minuteman quest there followed almost immediately by a Railroad quest and have been directed to go there and clean it out for the BOS. Quests to that location are given so often, in my games, that the raiders respawn with all the containers still empty and the traps havent been reset.

It's also a popular one with the Diamond city bounties that most never do, but are nice on games where you have reduced loot mods to limit caps and such.

I've never seen the raiders respawn, but I play survival, and most things don't. If I go back to Backstreet Appare for another group, I come back to an empty building.

What do you mean by the museum, like the first museum in concord ? I went there early levels and this was ok...It's like one of the first mission ?

Again, thanks for all the replies and feedback.

There is another museum, a lot nastier.

Haha ok thanks !! :D

I guess at this point I will complete the mission and I will come back later for the master lockpick safe.

I do intend to take the lockpicks perks as I see many other perk I will not use, so I should have enough points to get this one that seems to be usefull. I'm just level 10 and have now put two points in lockpicks and certainly dont regret it !!

Truthfully you're not missing out on any really special loot by not having master lockpicking skills yet. Safes will typically have some caps, ammo and chems, gold or silver watch, small arms, etc... but never anything legendary or really really special. So not that big a deal.

As far as the workbench goes, can't remember if it's for weapons or armor at that location, but you will find workbenches everywhere as you get deeper into the game.

The workbenches you find at various locations are ok for something quick but you probaly don't want to leave materials there. They may or may not be there if you go back later.

Enemies will respawn at almost every location and so will basic loot items but some things won't.

As for the museum he's referring to, it's on the far east side of the map. You don't need to be lvl 40 but you dont' want to go there at lvl 10 either....

But it's fun! Especially when you record both the game footage and a face cam... and post it/livestream it

I thought I would live with expert lockpick for now and for many levels coming. I wanted the extra loots from expert locked safe I found as I've come around a few of them actually. But I'll wait later on for master lockpick as there are other perk I want first and this is only the first one I see.

I'm just going to complete this mission and move on, as I've been recommended to.

I'll come back later to this spot as it it close to diamond city, wich I have not even went into yet, apart from a super mutant and beasts fight at the entrance. Theses guards really needed my help and I even got a my second laser rifle from the fight !!

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks everyone.

Wrong. Workbenches are immune to cell resets. This goes for every workbench in the game and DLCs.
