D@mn stupid ship wreck
/Rant time
I am trying to do a no reload run. As in, don't die and do not muck up something so you need to reload. I just cleared out the ship wreck under the bridge near diamond City - the USS Riptide. I stored all the loot in the small container by the bed in the tugboat cabin. Because I was planning to sleep there in a while (survival). Then I went and fought the supermutants on the way towards Diamond City. Took that loot and headed back to the Riptide to store. Thats when I discover that this is one of those bugged spots that constantly respawns. After just a game hour or two because I left the area. All my loot was gone and the original empty bottles etc were back. GRRRRRRRR. Fortunately, I am using the mod Survival Options and I do allow saves to recover from game bugs/crashes. I have a save just before attacking the raiders on the Riptide. I should not count this against my no reload and count it as recovering from a bug ... but ... this is still gonna make me think I cheated. Even if I reload the legal save from sleeping the night before, I still reloaded. :steamsad:
It looks like the big gray container on the barge is safe from respawning.
/Rant off

Never store your crap in places like that. Red Rocket, Diamond City Market, and other friendly unlocked locations are OK. Put your stuff in other places, you're just giving it to raiders. Give your stuff to companions, never settlers, because they can be killed and looted by enemies.

Yeah, just never rely on storage outside of your own settlements, even if it's out of your way to go back to a settlement. If I recall correctly, that alley settlement is somewhat close to that location, so that would have been a good place to go instead

Good rant, but it was caused by user error and not by a bug/glitch in the game. The author of Sim Settlements has a great mod for getting your goods home. You place a beacon in the crate you stored the stuff and some settlers from the closest settlement will come and get it for you.
