So, a couple of things. First, cleaning mods themselves is usually a bad idea. Cleaning the masters can be a good one. There are many good arguments on both sides, but I cleaned mine.
However, lets start at the start though.
Do you have LOOT installed?
If not, it can be found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1918
Which mod manager are you using?
LOOT is great for sorting mods. I ignore everything it tells me regarding cleaning though.
Take the archive you downloaded from Nexus, it should be called FO4Edit 3.2.1-2737-3-2-1 and right click on it. Go to Properties at the bottom. At the bottom right corner, there may be a box labeled "Unblock", if its there, check that box. EDIT: Then click Apply and then OK.
Now go to your Fallout 4 folder in Steam, it should be Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4
also you should see a folder there named Data (among others). Now in the Fallout 4 directory create a folder called FO4Edit
Go back to that archive and open it up. Then copy everything in there into the folder you made called FO4Edit. Once that is done you should be able to click on the file called FO4Edit.exe That should open up the program.
People with no mods are having the same problem. Many, many posts about this glitch. Just google "hunter hunted problem" and you'll see you're not alone.
So probably not caused by mods but possibly made worse with them.
Some people have said just turning off the courser signal and finding the area without it will fix it, but dunno about that.
Heres a few work arounds that will help. Make sure you use plenty of saves.
1.) Open console (tilde key) and type: coc GreenetechGenetics01 (this will transport you there- write it down and type it exactly as written).
2.) clear building, kill target
3.) when you see the door to leave for Cambridge, open the console again and type: coc sanctuaryExt to leave. Going through the door will cause you to crash again.
or
1.) Open console and type: player.moveto 00064dfc (this will also transport you there)
2.) kill target
3.) when you see the door to leave for Cambridge, open the console again and type: coc sanctuaryExt to leave. (will transport you to sanctuary). Going through the door will cause you to crash again.
Google is a great help with many of the games bugs. In the future you can just google the quest name that you're having a a problem with. For example you can google the term: Hunter hunted problem.
Hope this helped you a little bit.
Thanks for you help that got me in and out of greentech.
@ Chef I will still need to clean at least my master files. I still CTD at random spots.

COC GreenetechGenetics01
or
COC GreenetechGenetics02
This should put you inside of the building somewhere bypassing having to travel to the place.
Just read thru that cleaning guide. Good stuff Chef. Hopefully it helps Rguy1
