Settlement Menu Manager & SKE CTD on start [ SOLVED ]
Both cause Fallout to not launch, not even the intro plays. The mods that require them are off, so they cant be the cause. I have enabled modding in the files and other mods work, why not these ones in specific?
Solved - Nexus may mess up installations

No idea. Both should work even with vanilla game and I have both of them in my list.

Have you run your load order through LOOT or FO4Edit? In this case the latter would likely be more prone to catch potential problem and warn about it.

LOOT comes up with nothing, would FO4Edit be a better alternative? Wierdly enough I see nothing like this on the internet..

Latest stable version in Nexus.

FO4Edit
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2737/

xEdit GitHub page. If you use something from there and application uses the wrong filename, then just rename it as FO4Edit.exe.

xEdit in GitHubt
https://github.com/TES5Edit/TES5Edit/releases

You can do a lot of things with xEdit tools. Just running the load oder through is already a powerful method. It is more likely to catch certain issues than LOOT is, though LOOT is very capable of catching most.

Unpack the tool where you need to. I usually add the folder in to my game installation folder. Running the tool shows plugins you have installed. Make sure all are selected and just let the tool to run.

If it stops in between, then the log will show why. There might be few lines in between, but it explains what is going on.

Looks about right, maybe I need to do a clean reinstall?

Yep. xEdit didn't find any problems from your plugins, so problem is likely somewhere else.

Are you using Nexus Mod Manager to install your mods? It has few known bugs, whcih may cause it to install mods in incomplete state. Reinstall, or manual install might solve the problem.
ThinkingEmoji_ Aug 15, 2018 @ 8:13am
I emptied the mods out of the data folder, installed the keywords manually, and now it works. So it was the nexus mod manager, thanks again for helping me come to this conclusion.

Glad to hear that it worked.

There is a reason why NMM is being discarded and it is no longer officially supported by Nexus. Only reason why it is still there as "default" is because Vortex is still under alpha development.

Most people (not all) making more serious games are using Mod Organizer 2 right now. It might be worth to consider that option, if you continue facing similar problems with NMM.

Edit: Okay. What's going on? Either my keyboard is giving up, or I can't write for my life today. Might be a good idea to play instead.

Haha no worries, got your point either way. It's interesting they haven't actually stated it's unstable nature on the download page. I'll definitely try out that Mod Organiser.
