Alright, i`ve heard of it, so i`ll try to make it work. Back to around an hour of carefully following step by step instructions, i suppose! It`ll be worth it though... fixing the lore with mods will make for a rather interesting run!
However, NMM has plenty of issues. I would recommend moving to either Vortex or Mod Organizer 2.
Gopher has beginners guide series for Vortex.
GamerPoets has beginners guide series for MO2.
Both are considered as official tutorials for respective mod managers.
When did they drop NMM support? Never had a problem with it, only some mods that didnt properly install, but that was on my end because i didnt read "only FOMOD" marking on the mod pages.
It haven't been supported by Nexus since last winter. It was officially replaced by Vortex few weeks ago. They no longer provide load link for NMM either.
NMM has several issues, but not everyone sees them all the time. Problems became notable after ESL update. Nexus was already throwing NMM in to bin at that point.
NNM still kinda works but it won't be update, I mean in NMM you can still update the Mods themselves and group them, you won't be able to update the manager though just the mods and groups...
I myself will start to use Vortex too but I have to study it and master it like I did with NMM and Wrye, so I'm using NMM just for right now, and no more installing mods with Wrye, well maybe some FOMOD less mods through wrye and a few that don't really install with NMM...Skyrim Devious Devices trio is the only one I use on wyre anymore...
If you watch the tutorials it will be easy to move from nmm to vortex I did it just a few days ago.
Well I got to spend two different days then, you may think it's weird but I'll look at the T vid and then a day or two later I'll try it out, I do have other things to do ;P
I really think that NMM had some deep bugs that could never be fixed because the original creator of nmm never fixed them. However, with vortex, a fresh start, they didnt had to change an existing program. By starting from scratch, they got a stable mod manager now. You can even import your nmm mods onto vortex so nothing has to be redownloaded or reinstalled.
Mod authors sometimes change names and versions of files on go, so it is easy to get confused with names in Download folders. I always download mods manually and then install them with the manager from hard drive.
It makes it far easier to keep a track of mods, when they are under named download folders in storage drive and folders have version numbers in them.
Just a suggestion, for those considering of fiddling around with several managers.
What comes to CC mods: keep in mind that you can't actually move those ESL-files in your load order anyway. They all load in alphabetical order, right after official ESM files, despite of how you try to position them in the load order. Game reads and loads them differently than usual ESM/ESP files, so don't worry about where they are in the load order. They will get loaded exactly as presented above in any case.
