Trouble Brewin quest wont complete after choosing to keep "Drinkin Buddy" ?

how can you complete a task if you don't actually finish it?
The quest is for you to deliver Drinkin Buddy, not keep him. :steamhappy:

Alternatively, Buddy can be sent to a settlement of your choice, which will enable faster access to his services. You will be able to send Buddy to Hotel Rexford at any time after that, but the quest will not be considered complete until you do so and sell him to Rufus. Alternately, if Rufus is killed, the quest will be marked as having failed and will be removed from the quest log.

I ended up using a mod from nexus to keep him, it works, but you can't save the game in the last cell with the molerats in it, and you may have to coc out of the cell if the game keeps ctd when exiting the basement, I use the cheat terminal mod to teleport out of the cell when done!..

If you need to use console commands to get out of the basement, then you have a mod conflict somewhere.

no the last cell is bugged for the none modded game too

I got out no problem. Might be because I have the Unofficial Patch installed and it fixes that area.

Hmm tnx for the answers. Im playing without mods. U can actually kill the quest giver and for some reason none in the hotel will give a damn so I might as well do that.(The quest will then fail ovsly)

you should at least be using the Unofficial Patch (and Achievements Enabler). It fixes soooo many things that Bugthesda was too lazy to fix.

Heck, for 5yrs they've had a running list of all the bugs in Skyrim but didn't fix any of them in Special Edition. They left it to the original Unofficial Patch team to convert the SLE patch over and fix a few more that sprung up.

The fact it does not "finish" is useful later for when you want to find him again to place in or take out beer if you sent him to one of the larger settlements.

Just activate the quest again and it gives you a marker for his location. Rest of the time, dont have it active.

Meh havent had much trouble (yet) I really wanna keep my game clean.

Unfortunately this mod has been removed from the N network
